Less than a week to Nab action, a few clubs were on community camps this week and most held intra club matches.

ADELAIDE CROWS
Looking Good

Taylor Walker â€" took some very strong grabs one out in the Crows intra club match this week. His set shot kicking was also outstanding.

Rory Sloane â€" his intensity around the ball and at the man was fantastic during the scratch match, should be in for a ripper season.

Brent Reilly â€" was excellent off half back during match simulation. Luke Brown also stood out in defence and could play early in the season, he is worth watching out for in the Nab Cup.

Who’s Not?

Ben Rutten â€" underwent minor knee surgery during the week. This is a further blow to an already interrupted pre season for the Truck. He will more likely than not start the season slowly for the Crows.

Brodie Martin â€" was sidelined during Friday’s intra club match and was spotted running laps around the boundary, he is looking fit and strong but it is slightly worrying he is missing scratch matches at this point of the pre season.

BRISBANE LIONS
Looking Good

Billy Longer â€" has been pumped up by the Lions in the media this week. At 201cm & 101kgs he should be ready if one of Leuenberger or Hudson falls over.

Who’s Not?

Dayne Zorko is rumoured to be battling a hip injury, which should sideline him for about four weeks. The best case scenario is that we see him in the final week of the NAB Cup for a last ditch effort to push for their first game, but it’s a blow for his chances of a Round 1 debut.

There is not much news coming out of the Lions this week on the injury front. The club has had a good pre season and should have most players fit for round 1 at this rate (bar Brent Staker and Zorko).

CARLTON BLUES
The Blues went off for their community camp to Kyabram during the week.

Looking Good

Andrew Walker â€" continued to display great form during an intra club match last week. He looks to be in for a bumper 2012.

Robert Warnock â€" was the standout ruck on the track this week, seems to be over his injury woes.

Josh Bootsma â€" was also a standout on the track. With Sam Rowe suffering a setback and Jarrad Waite often injured, he could be a dark horse to grab a key forward role.

Who’s Not?

Michael Jamison â€" hurt his back at training earlier in the week. The club has denied rumours that he will be sidelined for up to two months and claim he will be right to start the season proper. His Nab Cup is in doubt though.

COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES
Looking Good

Nick Maxwell â€" the re appointed skipper has been training well during the week and looks to have no signs of injury. He had an underwhelming 2011 due to a poor pre season and should find some form again this season going by his pre season form guide.

Ben Reid â€" has joined training after his off season shoulder injury. He is able to do most contact work and should play some part in the Nab Cup.

Who’s Not?

Alan Didak â€" has suffered an adductor injury (no, he’s not been out with gangsters again, apparently it’s a fancy term for a groin injury). After a previously uninterrupted pre season this is a disappointing blow for Didak.

Andrew Krakouer â€" has been given time off from the club to battle depression. Hopefully he can get back and recapture some of the form he displayed in the Grand Final.

Ben Johnson â€" has suffered a grade one tear to his hamstring and will miss 3-4 weeks, this probably shores up Marty Clarke’s position in the team.

ESSENDON BOMBERS
The Bombers were up in Maryborough during the week for their community camp and also had an intraclub match at Victoria Park where Kim Jong Hird actually allowed public access (as long as you hid under the seats).

Looking Good

Michael Ross â€" looks to have really bulked up and was moving quite well.

Brendan Lee â€" could be promoted from the rookie list if his intra club form is anything to go by, looks a ready made player.

Who’s Not?

Scott Gumbleton â€" surprise, surprise has been added to the long term injury list as a result of his back issues.

Brent Prismall â€" has also been added to the long term injury list after wrecking his knee against Collingwood last year.

FREMANTLE DOCKERS
Looking Good

Jack Anthony â€" could be part of Freo’s preferred forward setup, was lively in the intra club practice match this week.

Aaron Sandilands â€" dominated the intra club but didn’t have much of an opponent. Impressive nonetheless.

Nathan Fyfe â€" dominated the midfield early and didn’t show any signs of lingering effects from his off season surgery.

Who’s Not?

Cam Sutcliffe â€" apparently has a stress fracture in his foot, which isn’t a good sign at all. That should put him out for some time, but may open the door for a Lee Spurr promotion off the rookie list.

Zac Dawson â€" looked really out of sorts and had a massive attack of the fumbles in the scratch match.

Jon Griffin â€" has been held back by knee tendonitis, the club remains confident he will be ready for round 1 as the preferred second ruck.

GEELONG CATS
The Cats are a bit cagey at the moment and only have a few open training sessions, so information is hard to come by. The club headed off to Portland at the weekend as part of its community camp.

Looking Good

Simon Hogan â€" looks set to get an opportunity as the principle tagger through the Nab Cup in the wake of Cameron Ling’s departure

GOLD COAST SUNS
The big news out of the Gold Coast this week is that the club is sending Josh Caddy, Sam Day, Josh Toy & Trent McKenzie to Arizona for 15 days. The quartet will miss all of the Nab Cup but should be right for round 1.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY GIANTS
Looking Good

Callan Ward â€" killed it through the midfield and was a real leader in the intra club match

Curtley Hampton â€" young ‘Ambrose’ was the dominant player on the ground during the intra club match’s first quarter.

Chad Cornes â€" was played in a multitude of positions and took plenty of grabs and was a real general out on the field.

Setanta O’hAilpin â€" through the practice match he was the best forward target for the Giants.

Who’s Not?

Israel Folau â€" struggled to have much of an impact up forward during the intra club match which doesn’t augur well for Sheedy’s prediction of 30+ goals this season.

HAWTHORN HAWKS
Looking Good

Jack Gunston â€" was lively up forward and was in the goals during the Hawks’ intra club match at Aurora Stadium during the week. With hot competition for spots in the Hawks’ forward line in 2012, Norman has done himself no harm with this performance.

Brad Hill, Cyril Rioli & Lance Franklin â€" were other outstanding players in the intra club match.

Who’s Not?

Bandaid Ellis â€" hurt his ankle in the intra club match and left the field straight away, he wasn’t spotted icing it on the boundary which should mean it isn’t too serious (or it is completely fire-trucked).

MELBOURNE DEMONS
Looking Good

Jack Watts â€" trained really well during the week, looks to have bulked up in the pre season and impressed with his pack splitting ability.

Nathan Jones â€" has impressed around the stoppages as usual and looked really sharp during the week

Who’s Not?

Aaron Davey â€" is still struggling with a dicky knee and looks to be on some sort of modified program.

Jordie McKenzie â€" is stuck in the rehab group for the second season in a row has had an interrupted pre season.

NORTH MELBOURNE KANGAROOS
Looking Good

Ben Cunnington â€" looked really good at the stoppages during the club’s intra club match this week, has great hands in close, could be in for a breakout year.

Who’s Not?

Majak Daw â€" has been sent to train with VFL affiliate Werribee for breaching club protocol in recovering from a knee injury (which according to the Herald Sun, includes being a lunch cutter). With the Roo’s being well stocked for rucks this really shouldn’t affect the club’s 2012 campaign either way.

PORT ADELAIDE POWER
Looking Good

Darren Pfieffer â€" should be promoted to the senior list following Cam Hitchcock being placed on the LTI list.

Who’s Not?

Cameron Hitchcock â€" has been placed on the club’s long term injury list due to his shoulder injury.

Daniel Webb â€" injured his hamstring at training during the week and will not play in the Nab Cup.

RICHMOND TIGERS
Looking Good

Todd Elton â€" has been nominated by captain-in-waiting Trent Cotchin this week, as one to push for senior selection this year. Quite surprising given the club has Jack Riewoldt, Tyrone Vickery, Brad Miller & Tom Derickx on the books. Not great news for Brad Miller’s senior prospects if true.

Who’s Not?

Brett Deledio â€" has suffered a hamstring setback and will miss the early rounds of the Nab Cup.

ST KILDA SAINTS
Looking Good

Nick Riewoldt â€" has been reappointed as skipper for 2012 and has had a bumper pre season to date.

Tom Ledger â€" looked all class at the intra club match on Friday. He looked really good around the stoppages his hands, ball use and vision were all first rate, he should have an expanded midfield role in the Nab Cup.

Who’s Not?

Brendon Goddard â€" had minimal impact on the game on Friday playing through the midfield, while his direct opponent Seb Ross impressed for a young first year player.

SYDNEY SWANS
Looking Good

Adam Goodes â€" was typically impressive up forward during the intra club practice match.

Gary Rohan â€" G-Ro was very lively up forward in the Swans intra club practice match, after having some injury woes in his career to date this could be a massive year for the ranga from Cobram.

Who’s Not?

Matt Spangher â€" has suffered a hamstring tear and will miss up to 4-6 weeks. He will miss most of the Nab Cup.

Tom Mitchell â€" is recovering from knee surgery and will be unavailable for the Nab Cup.

WEST COAST EAGLES
Looking Good

Andrew Gaff â€" had a good session on Monday and impressed with his ball use and strength.

Josh Hill â€" looked good up forward and was impressive with his finishing.

Who’s Not?

No real news on the Eagles’ injury front.

WESTERN BULLDOGS
Looking Good

Adam Cooney & Brian Lake â€" played 3 quarters of the intra club match and didn’t look to be effected by injury at all.

Shaun Higgins â€" was very impressive through the midfield and up forward during the intra club match. He could finally be ready to deliver on all of his promise!

Who’s Not?

Matthew Boyd â€" didn’t line up for the practice match because of what the club claims are to do with training loads. However, given he copped a knock a couple of weeks ago at training it could be something to keep an eye on.

dont think he played in this one. Just a follow up on that game, Fyfe landed on his dodgy shoulder and it looked like it hurt, but he ran out the game and Dawson had his pants pulled down by a guy from the WAFL who was a last minute ring in!!

Great article to read, who cares where Cortez stole it from.
