Well Gary Ablett 'broke' out in his 6th year and this is Patty's 5th and with an easy draw ayyy I like my odds.
But to be honest, the less amount of people going Dangerfield will be better for me :D

Yeah but gary ablett is gary Ablett, Dangerfield isnt even the best midfielder at his own club yet.

JamSainter

Well Dangerfield is closely behind VB, Vince and Sloane... And of course the ever-durable Scott Thompson.

LOL, roary sloane has achieved more fantasy wise in his short career than danger.

Well I am still going Dangerfield. His price won't drop and he plays Gws, GCS and PORT all in the first 5 weeks. He will rise in price and then comes the option of a sidewards trade.

And who did Ablett have as team mates?
Makes a massive difference

this is straight out of the 2011 AFL prospectus. Dont believe everything you read!! Danger will be good but just because he is claimed to be the next ablett doesnt mean he will be. Unfortunately we cant fully analyse the two because SC wasnt around in 05, Abletts equivalent to Dangers 2011. But DT was and ablett avg'd 6 ppg more than danger. Then in 06 ablett avgs 95.5 SC with 6 games 119+ thats a big jump for Danger to get and Geelong were still a good team back then on the up and danger wont have the success that Ablett had in that year this year. There are much more similarities between Ablett and a port adealaide fwd/mid despite the poor team if you look into it more closely. A player that has huge ability that seems to be slightly going under the radar in a poor team despite his 100+ SC avg in the second half of last year when he got more mid time. A young player that can have that impact in a team that was as poor as port was last year should always be looked at, i see him as the next ablett!!!

In summary 2012 AVG
Danger 85-95 avg
The Next Ablett 95-105 avg

A Must Consider for what? How to tank your team in record time?

yorgis

agree with you robs o a, can't see this dude ever becoming a great scorer, sure he'll have days when he may pump out 100+

but don't most mids ??? every year we hear the same hype - it's going to be his break out year.  he def ain't a must have

SydneyRox

Dont let the others talk you away if you really think this is his year.
IMO it all depends on the rest of your team. There is a fair bit of good risk/reward around this year, mainly in the fwd and back roles, but if you overload your team with it you will get burnt - No doubt.
So if you already have/want a couple of brown, riedwolt, martin, porps, beams, sidebottom, walsh in your team there is alot of risk to add dangermouse to the sheet as well.

Ive got him in my team at the moment but Im not overly confident.

Hes having a great pre season and Ive watched his progress over the last 3 years pretty closely

Whilst I think he will definately progress again this year, the Crows are missing another 1 or 2 stars that would help out Dangerpants' game / PPG...If Sloan can progress again this year (more than likely) & with the emergence of VB & Thommo as stars, things are looking up.

The only time he will get to the level of Selwoods game is when he has players like Bartel, Chappy, Ling (last year), Corey, SJ & Enright etc to get the ball from / give it to / get protection from...I reckon Id look pretty handy on a footy field with those blokes helping me out.!!

I reckon you wouldn't. Clown

Well I aint been detered. I am still picking him (I have never picked him before). And I also have this young gun Port superstar :P

Hamish Hartlett! Come on down.... It's time to see if your price is right?

Wont get me picking any port player besides a rookie that is in need of some milking. But Hamish is a handy young player gets lots of tackles aswell which is a bonus
