Giles competing with Brogan

With the GWS going to play two ruckman in there side, do you really think Giles will score well?
With all the people who are puttimg him as their number 2 ruckman, I don't see him scoring that well if Brogan sits in his way, playing majority time in the ruck. You may say Zac Smith scored well in his first year, but that was due to either no ruckman or a washed up Josh Fraser who sat on the bench more than played. (Btw, I go for gc and Josh Fraser was horrible...)

Do you think Giles can really score so well to be your number 2 ruckman?

I haven't much confidence with Giles as number two ruck. No matter which way you look at it.....He got de-listed by Port....Guess who was in his way there....Brogan.

first of all he got delisted because he couldnt put on muscle and was behind Lade, Brogan and others. After he was delisted he bulked up and moved to Sturt where he was named the ruckman of the year. He always had the potential he just didnt have the bulk. He has proven he has enough build now with a great season in the sanfl as well as a season for gws in the neafl

Second of all why would he have to compete with broges. Look at Zac Smith and Fraser....It is exactly the same here but I reckon Brogan is well past Fraser. You have a mture bodies, able ruckman in Giles and Brogan who would have retired last year. GWS signing brogan and cornes was pretty much GWS securing their coaching services for 2013.

Finally this year is the perfect year to start a bargain ruck with Orren Stephenson picked up by the cats also garunteed game time as well as Jarrad Redden from Port. I didnt like redden but with Lobbe and Renouf injured Redden will be no.1 ruck in NAB and at the least no.2 come round 1 so you have three rucks under 120k who will play round 1. Giles will score the best and if you look at Zac Smith last year who realistically could bulk up a little more compared to Giles who is a mature mountain I dont understand why people would doubt him

Fair points. Are you going to put Giles on the field? Or play two AFL established ruckman?

im not worried, look at last year with gold coast, fraser didnt steal any substanial game time away from smith

strongly disagree with most of you, brogan is there to develop Giles, his playing as a mentor, plus Giles is 24 mature age, always had the talent just needed the size. Now that he has it, he is a steal as a second option and looms as an upgrade option, could be a 70-80 average, watch him kill the nab cup
