It is a bit dissapointing Danyle Pearce is a mid only. He played the last 6 games of the year in the backlines and Port have already locked him in as a defender this year. After not getting Neon Leon in the draft they have found their own excitment machine in defence by permanetly moving the rising star dud Pearce into the back half. Primus experiemneted pearce at hb last year from round 17 to round 24 and he liked what he saw. Pearce has now spent all pre season training with the defender and working on his efficiency as well as his defensive pressure.

So..... could you imagine if he was named as a defender for 2012 in dt. Look at Pearce's stats from 2011.

In the 6 games Pearce played in the backlines he averaged 79 including a 91 against the pies, 87 against adelaide and 100 against the dogs. 3 good games against 3 great teams. In the other 18 games pearce played in the midfield he only averaged 65. That is a 14 point increase in scoring output just by moving down the field 50-60m. Now he has also been training with the defenders improving his game which curely means a few more points could be added to that 79. Now we also add that Pearce along with Port Adelade are in a rebuilding/development stage and you could add a few more points to his average so we are looking at a mid 80s average for a player who is priced at a 73 average. While I wouldnt have the balls to pick pearce in the midfield if he was a defender you would have to condsider

Just one for you to ponder over this morning hahaha

jballstars

still wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole .....that being said if he burned at start of season could be an interesting tradeup

If he was a defender i wouldnt need a pole id grab him with two hands. But he is a mid so yes might need a long pole. I was just showing the facts and giving people some useless information to give them something to read today hahaha

Don't get too sucked in to Port players. We are still going to finish near the foot of the table, as much as i can see a top 8 side there.

I have said im not picking him just like I am not picking stewart. I just like giving people the facts and information on stuff I know and they dont ;) If pearce was a defender he would be locked but he isnt so bad luck. The only port player I would consider PB is Robbie Gray but then his general soreness still worries me.

PowerBug

Even if he was a defender i would have trouble picking him.

The Bulldogs are not a great team... especially last year...

Many better options in the mid and probably in the backline too. Also I wouldn't call the dogs or adelaide 'great teams'. I'd go with mediocre for those two. Solid, without being outstanding.

The F.A.R.K.

When comparing WB and adel to port they are great. What I was trying to say is that it wasnt against brisbane or gc

Im not saying im picking him. If he was a defender he would be a shoe in. A 73 avg priced defender who will average over 80 would be a shoe in any teams defence

Gray played every game this year. Only two players that did for Port.

Must have been pretty 'sore.' Slaying at least 19 possessions a game after round 13.  :P

The F.A.R.K.

No doubt he has the potential but in before 2011 he couldnt string 4 games together without general soreness and the games he was playing was on piankillers and other remedies. Just worried that may come back.

True.

But I'm impressed that he played all games last year and after another preseason of no setbacks he could just take the step up to elite DT fwd level.  :)

The F.A.R.K.

Well he definately has the skills to average 100. Now he is playing mids he could be a premium but their are two main problems. He plays for port and his general soreness

Nonetheless I'll be having him in line up round 1.  8)

The F.A.R.K.

Im tempted but he wont slot in. I have danger ahead of him and other than that the rest of my team is premium. Ill leave some cash in the bank so if he does fire irst few rounds I can swoop on him
