The second option has two players coming back from injury. Wait for their performance in nab cup. And round 1 teams

This is true, however, JBrown's injury was a freak accident.... x2  :P
The injury to his face meant that his ability wasn't affected in anyway, and scar tissue won't affect him.
He's kept his fitness up - as soon as he could, he's been training, so his pre-season really started during the 2011 home and away season.

Watch out for Brown this year, he's ready to prove to his critics that he's still a pivotal part of the Brisbane Lions.

Having said that, I'd probably go with Lake and Martin.

Is there any way you could have both Martin and Brown in your forwards?

95% of teams will probably have GAJ and Pendles at the end of the season.
Does that make it a bad choice?

Depends on what job is given to Lake this year coming back from injury and with a new coach
