Seeing a few teams leaving out the great man in Swanny. I just want to know how many are actually running with this idea.

yorgis

why would you. he will always be a lock for captain every week unless you have gaj

Precisely. But I'm still seeing teams not getting him in. I won't be doing that.

LF

No Swan in my initial squad again this year(upgraded to him after the Pies second bye)
I`m going with Ablett

got both. sooner or later i guess you'll have to get both. i figure why cashing in 2-3 cows to get 1 of em, get 'em now

and start collecting points straight away

TheMailman

Started with him last year when people were questioning having him and he absolutley killed it! (137,162,117,132)

The potential thought of coming against an oponent with that as captain and me without is too daunting to not have him

jballstars

you quite simply must have him or /epicfail really

Chelskiman

He's got to be a starter.  No point trying to be unique here, just get him in and enjoy him with everyone else.

if Swan is not the highest scoring player this season then those who did not start with him have had an epic win. Pendels Gaj Selwood Rockliff. If you had a starting mid like that im sure you will survive not having Swan for awhile. i dont think it's going to be a do or die selection.

Colliwobblers

im starting swan and ablett in DT and pendles and ablett in SC, think they are the must have both best scoresrs and captain options.

And i didnt have ablett last season when he pulled a 170 and swan does that too and i won't let it happen again ! ever !

Swan at this stage is a 50/50 for me its a toss up between him and rocky at the moment. The only thing locking in swan is i will be starting selwood and barlow and dont really want to be forced trading out barlow during the bye rounds. The only thing stopping me from leaving out swan is the chance he could come out average 125 and leave me well behind. I just need to work out if i believe going swanny to rocky will lose or gain me points as leaving out swan saves a trade but leaves me with less points each week.

I have ablett not going one of them would be crazy. Its not like my midfield will be weak its currently Ablett, Selwood, Rocky, Gibbs, Barlow, Shiel

He might not be the highest scoring player by the end of the year but his first half of the year in terms of who he plays is tasty you might have to wait till round 15 to save yourself 40k

tbetta from DT Talk...

"For me, the biggest thing I got out of this exercise was putting Swan in my starting line-up."

Originally, my midfield contained Ablett, Rockliff and Barlow, with Swan in mind as a mid-year upgrade (or perhaps even sooner). But with Collingwood being one of the worst teams to upgrade to, and Brisbane’s tough start to the year, I decided to put in Swan for Rockliff, leaving Rocky for a mid-season upgrade instead.
