http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/128672/default.aspx Apparently the hawks defence are employing a more aggressive, running game this year. Will this mean more points for Birchall, Suckling, Puopolo etc?

lock and load. The hawks will dominate this season. I have locked in birchall and suckling.. No doubts that they will be in the top 5 def this year

I noticed that article too.

Playing the devil's advocate here, couldn't a more agressive defence result in the Hawks chipping the ball around in the back half less? This would negatively impact upon their scores (less +6s)...

Just sayin'.

Dont be like that ;)

haha

no i think it means that the hawks backline will defend further up the field

so it may seem like they are becoming midfielders and unless you are

Stratton, Gilham or Shoenmakers (lock down KPP backs) then they should do well

Well said..this looks like it could mean no more chipping around but a more direct style!! Less points perhaps!!

Hmm. So the two scenarios are that they score more or score less?
Bring on pre-season!!

i would suggest that being more aggressive in defense means to attack the forward lines quicker, instead of kicking

backwards and sideways looking for options. that can only mean less possies.
