Brown - huge preseason, but are his 100ppg days over?
Porps - not a season long player but first 5 rounds make him enticing?
WHO WOUL YOU PICK?!?!

Grimes - new leadership role, seems to have got his body right over preseason, can he reach premium status?
Lake - still in rehab group, but we all know what he is capable of?
WHO WOULD YOU PICK?!?!

I have Brown, Porps & Grimes.
I'm confident Brown & Grimes will be keepers but not 100% sold on Porps but his price is low enough that that if he's not a keeper he'll make enough dosh upgrade him to a premo by mid season.
Just hoping Porps isnt last years knights.

I always try to be cautious about taking on too many mid-priced players as they carry a greater risk than premiums (proven) & rookie-priced players (cheaper). However, if I had to choose I would go with Brown who is a fallen premium, over Porps - who's never been a premium, let alone a player who can consistently take the field! The other one is a little harder, but I would lean towards Grimes, who I believe has a better chance of over-coming his injury problems. Why? The way I see it a young injured player has a better chance of getting his body right than an old injured player showing signs of wear & tear (multiple injury problems not a good sign)... Plus the fact that Grimes has just been named co-captain at Melbourne leads me to believe that they have at least some confidence in his body, otherwise it would be a fairly ill-conceived move to make him skipper.

So, Brown & Grimes.

like griffo i have brown and porps think a full preseason in browny will lead to him avg over 100 this year, porps just for the money.  not sold on eitjer of the backs yet but Nab ishould see 1 of them make my team.  Msybe melbourne named 2 captains because grimey wont last????

Pick none of them. :P

+ 1 at this stage, would like to see how they go in the NAB

Brown hasnt got any help in the forward line and the lions need good ball distributors to him
Porps cant lift his hands above his shoulders and had the yips in front of goals last year
Lake coming back from surgery and not a great year last year. Needs to prove his fitness in NAB
Grimes needs some game time under his belt, i might use him as an upgrade target later in the season if he plays well

What do you mean Porps had the yips in front of goals last year? He played 5 minutes of the season! And also kicked a goal with his only possession so don't know how you can say he had the yips! ::)
He is one of the most accurate kicks for goals in the comp, in seasons 09 and 10 he kicked 74 goals and just 36 behinds!
