Fanplanner squad in the Super Coach competition coached by jamesalex. Salary cap left: $11,900.

Brendon Goddard, Brett Deledio, Greg Broughton, Jack Grimes, Brian Lake, Marty Clarke, Brandon Ellis
Sam Darley, Billie Smedts

Gary Ablett jnr, Dane Swan, Luke Hodge, Michael Barlow, Darren Pfeiffer, Dylan Shiel
Luke Brown, Tom Mitchell

Shane Mumford, Matthew Leuenberger
Jonathan Giles, Orren Stephenson

Lance Franklin, Matthew Pavlich, Dustin Martin, Jonathan Brown, Allen Christensen, Ahmed Saad, Curtly Hampton
Dayne Zorko, Jack Redpath

1. What are people's thoughts?

2. Should I do Christensen to Porplyzia and then Grimes to a premium defender? I have Christensen over Porp mainly because he's more reliable.

3. I've put Hodge in there in place of Selwood because Ablett, Selwood and Barlow all have a round 12 bye and they should be keepers. 3 round 12 byes in the starting midfield is to much, yes?  Was Selwood the right one to get rid of though? Thoughts on upgrading/downgrading Barlow? Gaff could be an option...?

Thanks

yes u should swap christensen to porps as crows have easy first 5 rounds and u can upgrade him rd6 or 7

jamesalex

OK thanks will keep that in mind.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the review!!
So to answer and review yours

1. Firstly Mate - I really like you team. Very strong. You and I have a very similar team.

2. Go with your gut.... but personally I am in favor of the Porplyzia into the team. Also I have thought about Brownie alot and my feedback to others has been "don't be fooled by the good price". He is undoubtedly a gun but I just don't think the Lion's have the guys to feed him the ball. Could be wrong! If you make the Porp move I would also keep Grimes and potentially pocket the rest to play with. You would be in a very good position with money in the bank and with that team.

3 SELWOOD!!!! Plus by round 12 you probably would have the cash to add another strong player to not be troubled by the byes. Who knows maybe you'd even pick up Hodge too! : )

Don't know how you feel about the feedback.
Good luck

Thanks for the great feedback,
So are you saying if I were to get a Porpoise in for Jono Brown, I should keep the cash in the bank, or should I upgrade elsewhere?
And you definitely don't think that 3 premium mids (I count Barlow as one) with a rd 12 bye is too much?

I think you should keep the cash mate. I am thinking you have a good side with that line up and you need to upgrade. You can upgrade later when the mid rooks increase in value and put in another prem. Then it won't matter in round 12. Know what I mean???

Solid team.

Not sure about Lake & there might be better options than Hodge.

Who do you think I should get instead of Hodge if so? I'm not keen on Hodge either, I previously had Selwood but then realised Swan, Barlow and Selwood all had the rd 12 bye. 3 premium mids (including barlow) with the same bye isn't good is it? My other option was to keep Selwood and downgrade Barlow to Gaff, but what do you think?

Maybe swap Saad for Rowe and Pfeiffer for Treloar. Then you should be able to swap Hodge for someone like Swallow.

jamesalex

Ok come up with this to sort out the 3 mids round 12 bye problem.. (Note this isn't my updated team)

I just want to know, is it better than the team in the first post?

Ringo

I think the first team structure wise is better than the second. Less risk although both have the Lake Grimes def which is a risk imo.
