Is the Tigers draw making you think twice about choosing Richmond backs?

Are you concerned with the Tigers draw when choosing a Backman?

No, the rooks, Delidio, Conca, last years captain , are a chance with me.

Sort of but rooks are rooks .. lids is lids and he will get more midfield time this year and Martin just fits my structure better plus the richmond forwards are fit and ready to go so you should see him play majority of the time in midfield + 3rd year = breakout i hope

Requirement number #1 for choosing a rookie is that they'll get a game.

And let's face it: the best teams in the competition have well-established teams which are much harder to break into. So most rookies play in teams with less competition for spots - teams that will get pastings from time-to-time.

It was more Dustin Martin where Richmond's draw concerned me. I was considering Mitch Robinson instead, but looking at the stats, if anything it's Robinson who doesn't play so well against the better teams. And Robinson has more competition for his spot, and has attracted the dreaded green vest on occasion. So I'm feeling safer with Martin at the moment - despite his early draw.
