How many games will James McDonald play in 2012?

Less than 5
5 - 9
10 - 15
16 - 22
> 22 because GWS will make the finals

There is a lot of speculation about McDonald and what value he will offer in SC.

When he plays he will score but how much do we think he'll play?

Capper

just over half i reckon

After a year off he might not make the full year

MC

I think he'll play more in the first half of the season to shield those rookie kids. 10-15 for the season and then will retire.

Ziplock

16 is my guess. But a majority of the first 10 :P

I had a quick scan on google looking for an article i read a few weeks ago but i couldnt find it.

In it sheeds outlined the desire to shield the youngens somewhat to begin with. With the clause in mcdonalds contract of become a coach in some form i think we will see JM push out as many games as he can in a row (which should give a nice cash increase) before he has a break for a week or two against essendon and geelong in Rds 9-10

lol are you hoping for that or thinking that?

I think it makes more sense for him to play every second game throughout the season that way he can play have 2 weeks rest and a rookie can play then have 2 weeks rest

You are probably right '95. But a man can dream! ::)

I was expecting you to say more than 22 since you think GWS are so amazing :P

It would appear that there is a fair bit of faith in James McDonald for a guy who hasn't played AFL for 12 months.

Ziplock

barlow broke his leg in 2 places, came back after more than a year and still pulled out a decent average ;)

Disco

McDonalds 36 in October this year and hasn't played for 12 months. He's there to provide leadership on and off the field and to protect the younger blokes. If he is playing crap I doubt he will palay more than a third of the season.

WillDel

Hasnt played AFL level. He has been playing in the VAFA Premier Division for the xavs. Has done alright for his old team.

Speculator

I suspect that GWS will be forced to do everything in their power to avoid the annihilations coming their way. If I was Sheedy, I would try to build some confidence (minimise despair) at least early in the season and worry more about blooding the kids later in the season when everyone has accepted GWS's retchedness. Therefore I think (or is it hope) that JM will play enough of the early games required of a fantasy rookie.

charliesheen

I hope he does his hammy in round 1.  FF would go melt down mode.

Torress

i'm expecting to score an average similar to harris. but JM is alot better than harris!
80 average too much to expect?? how many games will he play - who knows! hopefully the first ten or so!!!
