Unique Pick #2 ~ Luke Shuey

So.. Luke Shuey:

Has not been selected in many teams whatsoever this year, not exactly why I'm writing this because he's currently sitting in my 5th MID spot behind Pendles, SMJ, Thompson and Barlow as an exciting prospect of a super unique.

Shuey averaged 85 last year in his second year finishing behind Heppell in the Rising Star awards, he's heading into his third season of AFL - super breakout year anyone?  In his last 8 games of season 2011 he averaged 91.
West Coast definitely have an improving midfield with future stars such as Gaff, Stevens, Masten, Shuey and proven jet Priddis.
The green vest isn't a worry either as that'll go to Masten or K.Stevens.

so what'll it be, To Shuey or Not To Shuey?

No Shuey imo need to have 4 rookie mids as there is plenty of cash cows to choose from think you should spend the money on your fwds of defense imo

IMO more upside in gaff. Limited scoring last year because of the vest. could see a similar last year shuey move

rather stack up on the MIDs as they're the highest scorers. DEFs don't need 5 premo's(4 + 3 rooks), same with FWDs (4 + 1 mid-p + 2 rooks)

Not for me. Unless he smashes it in NAB cup. And even then...its guns and kids really. Better to go for what you know rather than what might happen.

it's his 3rd year, Shuey is an absolute star in the making, he's destined for a break out year in a team that's most likely going to make the top 4

But is it worth getting him then burning a trade to get him for a premo (possibly even two trades!?) When you could save the 300k+ and get a rookie who you will also upgrade?

sure mids do score higher but rookie mids also score higher then rookie fwds and def so they make you more cash

I wouldn't have him, can't see him gettin premo status and no point getting him for cash.
