Would love to have both, but only have room for one. Current fwd line is Buddy, Zaha, Sidebottom, Didak, christensen, J. Brown, Hampton (Walsh, Pfieffer)

I did have Zaha and Martin. But want to squeeze Didak in cause I think he will perform after reading he has been travelling well with pre season training.

Would love some thoughts from people thanks :)

essendon2

I'm going neither at this stage because of two reasons,
1. I think there are better value options
and
2. I can't decide between them.

Zaha has had a full pre-season but has had quite a few niggles here and there where he feels very sore and can't walk for days. Essendon has a very easy draw before the bye, whereas Richmond has a very tough draw pre-bye.

If you were to start with one, I'd go Zaha because of the easy draw and upgrade a rookie to Martin in Round 14 - but alternatively I'd go with Robinson.

I couldn't decide... So I went Pavlich ;D

I'd go with Martin. Just looks like such a gun and looks set for a big season.

Not sold on David. Had a bit of spike in scoring last year and maybe that will be it. I've chosen Sidebum over Zaha ATM.

Wasnt that spike in scoring when Jobe was out injured?

It could have been.....You'd have to check it out. But Zaha isn't a lock until after NAB. As for D-Mart he is a lock pre-NAB IMO.

Purple 77

Dusty Martin... will be a superstar... Might not be this year, but he's getting close...

Haven't taken the buys into consideration yet maidens. Probably won't hold onto Dids, i'm hoping he performs enough so I can off load him come the byes. I may have to sit down and think the byes out properly.

Thought about Robo too. I can see him lifting again this year. I was keeping an eye on him last year, and swore i'd put him in my team for 2012. But seen a lot of talk about Martin and Zaha, so have considered these 2 for the last few weeks.

There are 2 reasons I am not starting with Martin.
- His early draw is very tough and as a Midfielder running into the forward line won't see a heap of the ball.
- He will undoubtedly cop a lot closer attention from opposition taggers. Lots of lock-down half backmen that could take his measure in the forward line and run-with players that might have him in the middle.
Currently not in my team but he could well be if he has a solid NAB.

Thanks for your thought everyone. What's everyone's thoughts on structure for the byes? Are you all generally trying to pick 2-3 of each player(ie rd 13 bye player) in each postion, so you don't have too many out when byes roll around? I haven't considered byes at all, and don't want to be caught out come rd 11 onwards...

i am alittle surprised how many teams hes in,  i spose it may have to do with not that many rd.13 bye premiums in fwd line

Yeah true. I have gone with 2 round 12 guns and 1 round 12 midprice. Not ideal but I think Jordan Lewis would be an awesome point of difference.

i looked at lewis, he seem very consistant without being freakish(fantasy scoring wise) i just dont see him pushing the 100 avg.
where as martin averaged 98 last year, and SHOULD improve

Torpedo10

Marin has a tough draw for the 2012 season and is very inconsistent, I'd consider him as an upgrade option for a mid-pricer or Rookie later in season. Zaha scored quite well throughout the season altho I think he'll keep up his average but will really blow to 100+ avg is 2013. atm I'd go neither.
