I respect them but I can't help feeling Voss has knocked out any Top 2-3 hopes for several years to come after his 2010-11 coaching

Hopefully they can turn it around and become more competitive
Quite a few things happening off the field as well so hopefully it can translate to improvement on the field.
We have now resigned a core group of youngsters who will be the core over the next few years. Recent re-signings include Pearce Hanley (23 years old), Ryan Harwood (21), Patrick Karnezis (19), Matthew Leuenberger (23), Niall McKeever (22), Jesse O’Brien (20), Jared Polec (19), James Polkinghorne (23), Tom Rockliff (21) Jack Redden (21) and Daniel Rich (21).  Reasonable talent to build on. Club Goal is for another premiership in 2018 or before and i am hopeful we will be there.
In a good sign our membership numbers are running approx 3000 higher than this time last year.

Lions very well liked - but not by me!

Capper

i have a soft spot for the Lions as they have had some great games against the Swans and they are usually close. (State of origin)

I like them as a team and would easily back them over most Melbourne based teams.

Still getting over the 2 GF losses Os.

I actually like the lions, they bring back good memories of 04. I mean that in a nice way Ringo, old mate-pal- buddy-fellow  senior citizen lol. But really the Lions and Power had a great rivalry going from the start of the Powers inception. There was a few early draws and some very close games, But i recon 01 to 04 we were probably the top 2 clubs, even though u got 3 cups to our one

Yes mate the good times and we did have a very nice and intense rivalry.  My biggest memory of those years when Lynch announced his retirement by clouting Wakelin before the bounce. (They had an intense and healthy rivalry over the years) Trust that we will both back up there in the next couple of years but we may get there before you.

Those games back in early 2000s were great, and weren't there some draws early years as well? The Lions won three and Port finally got it but the rivalry was ferocious!

BTW being a netural State I never minded Brisbane so, don't care! lol

Spinking

Leaning towards dislike... Just do not like M Voss. Champion player, club favorite son, Brownlow winner, and irritates the shower out of me. Don't rate him as a coach and just comes across as an arrogant know it all.

Having said that - he no doubt knows more about footy than I do :D

Yup. 2002 almost a miracle, 2003 an absolute disaster

Agree Ringo, i do think the Lions are a few years in advance of us, but hopefully with our off feild additions we can slowly climb the ladder.  BTW, how many of Lynch's haymakers actually connected. I know Jono Browns definately  connected Carr's jaw lol

Ringo

Who would you rather run into Brown or Lynch!! :D :D. Think a couple of Lynchs connected though by the way Wakelin doubled over initially. (may have been playing for the free though was hard to tell).
As I said like our rivalry with Port.

I reckon a few of Lynch's that missed would of had Wakelin waking up about now lol. Nah mate, wouldn't want to be anywhere near big Browny coming at me :) I think Wakelin was doubling up just to avoid the flurry coming his way

Ricochet
