and there's no such thing as chewing up DT points... only chewing up SC points really. Gun players in the mids means more ball shared around, meaning higher dt score- for eg. collingwood.

Exaclty. Doesnt happen in SC either, if you play well you get rewarded. Simple as that, there is no stealing or chewing up points it only makes it more likely that your player was involved in good ball movement or a scoring chain if they are in a good team or a winning team.
