roo boys!

i've got 176,900 to spend on a backman and ive got my eyes on matthew broadbent from port. i havent got any port players yet so he should be good for my team. (dropping a north for a port) he is on the bubble and his past scores have been 70 and 34. i have bought a few players on the bubble recently and they have served me well.(Liam Anthony, Levi Greenwood, Ballantine) i have 2 trades left so i might as well get some money here and then blow it on a good forward. any thoughts?

if yo only have 2 trades left I would advise you to save them for LTI  assuming you will make finals

roo boys!

Yea I will I'm a clear 3rd but I'm tempted and scarletts injury is sorta long term so I'm trading grima but putting broadbent on the field and scarlett on the bench?  Btw is finals the last few weeks or sumthing? (I'm a first yearer)

If Grima gets back in this week I would keep him over Scarlett, he will score better!

roo boys!

That's what I would think but 1. I have 7 kangas and I'm desperate to get rid of  them and 2. At least scarlett will almost definatly play every week without injry but there's risk grima might get dropped again and grimas more expensive anyway

Would be easier if you posted your whole team to get advice

Only 2 trades left but you're talking like you've got 20?  Talking about trading just to have less North players  ???

Cash cows, cash grab, on the bubble ... mate, these are all terms for rounds 5-15.

Sit on your hands and use those 2 trades for the inevitable LTI's.

does scarletts count as an LTI? and im thinking ill probs drop scarlett this week and keep the other trade. should i go 4 some cash in broadbent and then the next LTI can be traded for someone really good?

roo boys!

Mate Looking at your team you have to sit on your hands & save the trades for the finals

roo boys!

bench Scarlett

hope Grima comes back

I don't think your trade idea was bad FWIW .... just not that wise when you've only got 2 trades left, that's all.

If you wanted to be bold and use up your trades you could go:

Ziebell - J van Berlo +$200K
then:
Hale - Goodwin or Cheney-Newman ?

But with Hale and Cheney playing you are better off to cover LTIs with straight swaps but wait until you have a zero and a hard final to win.  Then just cover the zero with the best player you can get for the price.

roo boys!

I think I've got it. I'll take ur advice with van berlo but the problem is that I just dropped him about 5 weeks ago but then at least I'll have cover in the mid and back but not forward so should I probably get some with my last trade or just keep it for when a forward gets injured and do a straight swap and if no-one does I can upgrade hale and bench Cheney when scarlett comes back. I like the latter.

Look, I wouldn't trade at all if I was you but the ziebell move is just an idea if you have an itchy finger on the trade button
