Rumours are about that the double captain tactic may be in jeopardy this season. Even if it is there is definately a way to optimise your score in round 1 with potentially 3 lock out periods. With GWS vs Swans a week before the rest it opens great opportunity to get the best out of your rookies as well as potentially get a massive score from your captain. This is How:

1. Set your VC to a gun swan like Mummy or Goodes/or you could choose a blues or tigers like murphy gibbs but i reccomend a Swan as they r likely to dominate the GWS.

2. Set your emergencies in Back Mid Forward to a GWS or Swan rookie like say for instance Darley, Miles, Walsh.

3. If your VC goes off and scores 125+ you need to play at least 1 donut (As Captain). Hopefully one of your emergencys has played well enough 60+ to do this. If for instance you had 2 freak scores of 90+ you can play 2 donuts. Never play 3 donuts. At the round 3 bubble you will have a gauge of what gun rookies you missed, for instance, last year i never initially picked up curnow. Jump on em.

4. If your VC doesnt have success thats fine you lock a Swan/Ablett type as your captain and fill side according to your success of the emergencies taking into account you cant have more than 2 donuts.

IMHO, the Captain loophole was viable last year with the GCS not playing in round 1.

Unless someone is really keen on Sylvia/Ziebell.... then sure, different story.

I'd prefer to have a full 30 playing round 1, with GAJ as Capt. ;)

Ive been umming and ahhing about Ziebell for quite some time. Is it bad to consider the captain loophole in rounds 1 AND 2 as a contributing factor ?

ok for those living the overall dream, but i only play for leagues,id only look at it if say a swan or judd or goddard or ablett or deledio(guys you must pick)misses round 1 through injury or suspension, otherwise im going with 30 on the park

Hmmm think picking a swan is risky being so far from selection for other teams. I'd prefer to Pick a blue but currently dOnt have a blue premium which is weird coz I follow them ;) or well at least i know I'm a real fantasy player now ;)

Think I'll just pick the messiah and be done with it.

I don't run the loophole, don't rate it or it's existence or the use of it, if it was in the spirit of the game if wouldn't be the "loophole"

Disappointing that they can't get there act together and close it !

Just my 2 cents

Did i not read yesterday that you have nothing against people with 2 teams, but you say its unethical to use the loophole

mmm there is nothing written in the Rules and Guidelines about the loophole making you void of the prize

I don't rink there is too much wrong with having two teams, as one you can experiment in, and ultimately help others over the year (eg Don't trade Boyd for Mitchell - Dr DT

And whilst there is nothing in the Rules and Guidelines, what about the little voice in your head?

you dont think theres too much wrong with it!!?

Its against the rules! Plain and simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you will not win any prize what so ever if you are found to have 2 teams.

You want to experiment and try to get it right!? whys that so you have a couple of shots at being better than everyone else

i dont care what you guys say! its cheating and THATS A FACT, spin any bullshower way your want ITS NOT IN FAIRNESS OF THE GAME

So whats you little voice tell you now?

Well, that being said, I haven't read the rules. But I would think its unrealistic to expect someone to throw away their overall ranking for the year so they can experiment. If they happened to win the car with two teams, then the right thing to do would be to give up the prize. But if it is the average joe, playing for funs, then no, I don't see too much wrong with it.

Totally disagree with you. You have labeled it a 'loophole'. Its part of the game and i would think its quite naive not to explore ways to get as many points as you can.

Ziplock

they can't fully close it, without getting rid of the whole point of a vice captain. However, they've done what they can.

I see no problem in using the loophole as much as you can, it's just another part of the game.
