Is it un-ethical to have a relative make a team for you ?

I think its wrong because if you aren't ballsy enough to take risks with your main team then why should you be rewarded if a player breaks out in your second team? It's weak and people know deep down this, otherwise they wouldn't be using excuses to justify it.

 I'm sure of the 304,504 teams last year at least 5% were made or 'co-managed' by another person. That's 16,000 teams or more. I've been in leagues before with teams having identical names and managers and only a few players different on each.
I guess it is cheating if you intend to claim a prize through another persons name. I've 'co-managed' my girlfriends team before in an effort to keep her interested in the game solely so I could watch more football! Shame, shame I know hehe, but she's certainly let me know where any prizes won under her name are going!

And if you put the team you 'co-manage' in the same league as you to beat those around you and then drop the game against 'yourself' that's definitely cheating.
