Scarey to go up against a 15 premium team in round one  I reckon. If the right ones should be top of the league ladders for a while.

Not really I would love to play against a 15 premiums team in the first few rounds.
1) Quite a few of the premium will be at the lower end and the 15 cheapies and rookies will need to be the cheapest possible rather than what it is needed. 
15 premium = def 450k x 4, mids 550 x 5, Ruc 500x2 For 480x4 Total $7,470k
15 cheapest = $85,800 x 15 =$1,287K
Total value $8,755
Money left 25,000
No room for a decent rookie. this team will have lots of donuts and find it difficult to upgrade




COMPLETELY WRONG!, Ive still got  marty clarke  as a rookie, morris, shiel, zorko, mcdonald, mitchell, giles, stephenson, trealor, cameron NOT ONE at 85k NOT ONE who isnt looking like getting early games so i think ur calculations are out a whack :P

This topic raises a good question, what is the best premium setup. As I said I've got 13 plus 3 good midpricers but which could leave me with anywhere between 12-15 trades to finish the team but I could also just go 15 straight premiums which would give me 14 trades needed for upgrades, I also wonder which one would score better

I have 14 + Grimes.

So if Grimes becomes a keeper then I need 7 upgrades (+ sideways for long term injuries or suspensions)
Which means I will probably need roughly 9 or 10 downgrades

So 16-17 trades, leaves 7 spare for dancing around the last few rounds.

I have this setup at present:
4/0/2/3 - 4/0/0/4 - 2/0/0/2 - 4/0/1/4 = 14/0/3/13 (in the format of premium/mid/cheap/rookie for each position)

Byes: 2/2/5 - 4/3/1 - 1/2/1 - 2/4/3 = 9/11/10 (in the format of R11/R12/R13)

So with no mid pricers the dilemna is I will need 5 of the rooks to make $100k each before I can get another premium.?
Does this sound right? If it is I hope the selected 14 are all keepers.

It may be a better strategy to readjust with a mid pricer on the Back, Mid and Forward lines for upgrading in conbination with a cash cow rook? ( only if my selections are any good of course ).
But I would be upgrading to Premiums I could have from round 1 and have to use similar or slightly more trades.

I didn't have this issue or concern last year.

Still not decided as you can see.

I think that my 12 premiums 5 mids would love playing against your 15 premiums. Maybe we should play in the same league to prove who is out of whack. I am game if you are.  ;)
