I think I started with around $55000 and it really helped me down the track.

splash da cash

like, no reason to hold back. If you think pavlich will average more than martin, then go pav, regardless of price if you got the cash.

Lol - there should be some interest payments on 'remaining salary'!!!  ;)

I think it is good to hold around 100K if you have a mid pricer you want to upgrade early without burning 2 trades. eg. mcintosh increases to $400k, then you add that 100K in the bank and you can afford a cox, sandi, mummy type

i voted 10-50 k as i can really see the use in having it to assist in upgrades, but to be helpful i think it would really need to be 100k, and saving that much for trades is definately going to cost you points on the field. I have splashed the cash at the moment but htink if i can make savings to have 50k pkus in the bank i will be better off. wont save cash at the expense of having what i think the best team availalbe for the salery cap i have tho

I just like to have a little safe guard if one of the cows must be culled early.

I have 101k. I'd say make the best team you can and any left overs is a bonus.

I agree LE, i dont plan for anything left over. Spend up on the players you want and if you have any left, well thats just peachy.

I,m of the opinion, that u spend most, if not all your cash to get exactly( or almost ) the team/players u really want. I've never had much money left over in my 4 years of d/t, and ranked fairly well in all those years, But i know what most people are thinking--- are u driving a FJ-Cruiser---- which my reply would be NO D@MM IT

Windigo

I hear yah. I just want to get hold of the bloke who won it last year and just ask him straight up. How did you do it?

And how you never see 'em on anything. Well they at least don't mention it. As if they wing it...... :P

I had 700k left over and got a ranking of around 600 after rd 1..... 2 seasons ago...everything went pear shaped after about rd 4...

I seen somewhere the person that won the car for highest round score finished around 70K overall?

Its hard to say how much to have left over with the season going so long and there being a lot of variables over that time

Initial team set up goes a long way in determining your seasons performance...I would say its 50% team set up, then 50% trading strategy that gets you a good overall.

Of course for leagues, if you can have lots of coin in the bank it will definately help as you hit the supercharge button after the byes and fly home (my old man does this and usually wins all his leagues...for the last few years)....if your in a league for cash I would definately look at having $1M min in the kitty...of course having plenty of midpricers & cheapos with 1 standout captain such as GAblett (2 premiums on each line besides ruck).

This year with the byes I dont plan on moving besides serious injury (which is extremely common) until around rd 8. I will spend as much coin as possible to get the players I have marked (must haves) before pre season to avoid wasting trades in my initial team set up...going by the fan planner thats looking at leaving me 15K.

10 - 100k spare seems the range for a shot at overall with the players Ive tagged.

But imagine if you had a million left over at rd 8, havnt traded and are sitting in the top 2k?

Its quite possible
