Okay I have a dilemma. I only want 2 midprice backs. I am tossing up between 5. Who are the best?
Here we go...

Pearce Hanley - 396k

Pros (+)
     - Training with the midfield group
     - Fitter than ever
     - Mature age
     - Very good bye round for the backline
     - In a possibly rising team up the ladder

Cons (-)
     - Awkward price, not a premium not a mid-pricer
     - Most expensive of the options

Jack Grimes - 329k

Pros (+)
      - Potentially a top 7 backmen
      - Bargain for potential
      - Mature age
      - Decent bye for the backline players
      - Very important part of the Demons line-up, well and truly in the leadership group.

Cons (-)
      - INJURIES. Hasn't ever played more than 16 games in a season. What makes this one different?

Reece Conca - 274k

Pros (+)
      - Less to lose due to his popularity
      - Increased time in his best position (on the wing and through the midfield)
      - Young
      - Cheapish for a high draft pick

Cons (-)
      - Bad bye for the backline (13)
      - Unknown fantasy potential in his new position
      - Where will he fit in Richmonds midfield

Nick Suban - 272k

Pros (+)
      - Becoming mature age
      - Good bye for the backline (12)
      - When played in attacking role scoring is very good (see early 2011)

Cons (-)
      - Most unqiue therefore a lot to lose
      - Lack of knowledge regarding position
      - Has had injury troubles

Dan Nicholson - 266k

Pros (+)
      - Running with the midfield group
      - Just about mature aged
      - Multi-Position (Back-Mid)
      - Tearing apart pre-season
      - Another good bye round (12)

Cons (-)
      - Only secured 9 games last year
      - Only averaged 53 when he did get games

There we go. This proves I have done some work I still just can't split them :P

Thanks :)

Conca and Paul Stewart...Have u checked ur pm

elephants

Not too keen on P. Stewart and yeah i saw your PM.

The F.A.R.K.

Paul Stewart 296k

Pros
- Is going to be playing permanently on wing rather than a third tall Back
- Has been training with Shaun Rehn to take boundary throw ins
- Has put on 4kg in last 2 months of pre-season
- averaged 67 last year in BP, now on wing
- completely unique

Cons
- Had a shoulder op last year (mid year)
- Plays for port

The F.A.R.K.

TBH out of thoe four conca and suban. for sure

but for me personally i am going conca and stewart. I dropped houli from my def and upragded a rookie so now i have stewart and conca

Maybe, still think my above options are the more relaible.

Yeah but he is my petrenko of last year. You dont have to even consier him but i am willing to take that risk. Would just love to go to a few of ports nab cup games and see where he lines up and what roles he plays

he'll be a good pick up. of those 9 games 4 are sub effected and of the games without he only played 70-80% of the time
should see his game time increased with he ripping up preseason and he points to increase with him playing more time in midfield

Thanks man. Pretty keen on Nicholson if he can get himself in the Dee's best 21.

Yeah I think he could be a potentially gun pick F.A.R.K. Keep him quiet :P

Adamant

I would go Grimes and Conca. Surely Grimes will have some good luck with injuries this year??? if so he will average 85 at least.

elephants

Thanks man. Grimes is a little more expensive but is a proven performer so...

Ziplock

I'm sick of this conca hype.

There's like no basis! He had like a decent streak in the middle of the year, and sucked balls fir the rest.

Pick him, he'll fail as a  midpricer.

I personally don't put faith in the 2nd year rule... in some situations.

in this one, it applies.

flower. there's no reason to pick him.

goddam, I actually can't say it any other way.

flower.

ronl

I agree, Ziplock.  I had this kid last year so I watched him pretty closely.  He was adequate, no more no less, and did his job as a cash cow. There were certainly no signs of a superstar in the making, and if Richmond are moving him into the midfield they are in more trouble than we think.  He runs hard, he's enthusiastic, and you can say the same for 100 others.

Windigo

I'd go Hanley. That's what I might do.

Then I'll just swap Berger for Mumford and have my Lions players as Redden & Hanley.

yorgis

agreed zip concas done nothing to suggest he will be a gun. i remember last year quite a few dters were not happy they
selected him . personally i reckon stewie may be a decent pickup
