i wouldnt bother picking any player based on 1 round.

But as for your question i cant remember who but a senior guy (i think) from this site had a link up to a comment by warnie at dt talk commenting that the loophole will be closing.

Warnie would know i think but there had been nothing official released yet to confirm it one way or the other but even if the loophole stays i wouldnt pick a swan just to have as captain (maybe) for 1 round.

Champion Data states inthe prospectus that there will be one for Gws vs Swans, and one for Blues vs Tigers. So i think thats a yes, there will be a loop hole.

Does it state we will have the loophole or does it just state we will have double lockouts ?

The statement was:
"For round 1, you don’t need to initially select a captain (if you have done so, just remove the said player from your team and reinclude). Then just set the VC against say Murphy and if he knocks out a big score don’t set a captain."

To which Warnie replied:
"Unfortunately, that has changed for 2012. More on that soon."

This doesn't mean that there wont be a loophole, but rather that we have to select a captain prior to the 1st partial lockout.

However, it would mean you would have to select a player not playing in round 1 and change the "C" onto him, if you were happy with the VC score.

E.g. You have say, ROK as VC and GAJ as Capt.
ROK pumps out a 140 vs GWS and you want to keep his score.
So after 1st partial lockout ends, you trade out a Zaharakis type and trade in Colin Sylvia, then make him Capt.

So yes, imho the loophole will be alive and well.

BUT why flower around, GAJ is a super Capt lock round 1. ;)

saw a post today on here quoting warnie, the game will automatically select a captain for you this year. all you can do is move it to a non playing player ie ziebel or non playing rook for the loophole.

Judging by the fixture there will be partial lockouts in rounds 2, 5 and 12 also, which means if you have a player not playing in those rounds you can use it then too (round 12 bye players makes that round easy). Worth noting, Carlton is in 3 out of the 4 partial lockouts. Round 5 will be good because you can ghost swan, and if he scores under 110 then you can use Ablett =P
