This is my first draft and I am going for a league win. I dont have much idea about the rookies and I have tried to have some bye protection with not too many players from the one team in any one line. I have just 2k left in the bank, Any thoughts most appreciated.

B: Goddard Deledio, Suckling Grimes Lake Clarke Mohr
Heath Wilkes

C: Ablett Swan, A Swallow Barlow McDonald Zorko
Sexton Brown

R: Mumford Aaron Sandilands

Hi Max, pretty good team for 1st draft, fairly standard that being said.
DEF: I'm of the opinion that there's no way you'd pick Lake until you see him tear it up in the NAB Cup. He was shiite lastr year. As for Grimes, is he good to go, do you have the good oil? If not your setting yourself up for failure.
MID: Very strong.
RUCK: Very strong
FWD: Strong.
So, in a nutshell it's a good team, with a touch too much (shameless AC/DC plagiarism) uneccessary risk. 7/10
As for bye strategy, it is my belief that to pick your team pre-season to set up for the bye just about guarrantees you'll be picking a team weaker than you may otherwise pick. I will be picked the best possible team pre-season and just hope to win 1 of 3 bye rounds (11-13).

Ha ha touch too much classic rock not like the rubbish out these days. THanks for the feedback.

Yeah good team in terms of risk

Just watch the whole Lake Didak preseason/Nab cup

Disregarding the rooks that wont really be set until after nab cup these are my humble thoughts on your 1st draft, which doesnt look like a first draft, nice team imo.

DEF: watch grimes and lake , these are 2 guns that could firs or fail, i wouldnt want both failing or you are in serious trouble. Sucking for SC (not DT IMO) with his very goos ball use and awesome left foot is a good uniwue pick, god and lids good and standard, clarke is a must have.

MID: perfect setup 4/4 gun/rook, barlow is a gun lets be honest and swallow is your unique here and again i feel you know your SC because he is a great, or potential great ball user making him a potential super premium SC player, still you tak a risk on him. +1 for that.

RUCK: perfect end of comments , ok perfect i'll say it again....

FWD: again the double risk like in your back line this time with brown and didak, first brown has to be as a come back from injury mid pricer considered a risk, however i do not see him as a risk at all, full pre season and a gun on the recieving end of what is becoming a gun midfield, good pick end of story, didak, now here is your risk, watch nab cup because you really need to know what bucks has in mind for didak, with malty as coash again you wouldnt go near didak, what you need to know is does bucks have other ideas ??? i love didak and as a pies supporter i am still not going near him. Watch fyfes situation to make sure he is good to go round 1 or pick someone else and upgreade to fyfe mid season.

Nice Job and good luck

Thanks for the feedback love that format for comments Colliwobblers. I agree as a pies man mick didn't help dids at all and surely he has to go at least into the mid rotation if fit for us to compete with the cats  deep quality rotation as we fell away after swan Pendles etc. Yep brown at his price if fit has to be a good pick doesn't he? Even if he ave 85 to 90.

Yeah I don't care what anyone says, Dids is a dead set champion, his footy brain and his use of teh ball is second to none, he makes an impact and he rarely ever misses his target or fails to find a target. As an outside mid out on the wing or on teh fringes of stoppages he is a gun.

If he gets a full preseason in and looks good and if bucks gives us an idea of what role he will play and his place in the best 22 he will be tempting to pick for sure. Maybe more of a SC player also with his "potential" efficiency, only concern is going to be match fitness and TOG.

Thats when he has confidence. Did you see him at all this year in comparsion to the year before? In 2010, he would torp a ball from 60 metres to goal and in 2011 he would torp it 10 metres 90 degrees from goal. Regardless of what he was, he's a firm no from me until he proves he has regained confidence.

+1 - i'm a one eyes pies/sentimental dids fan :) i agree 100% with what you say tho i tried not to watch, what i did see late in the season was when he was on the wing through the middle, he found the ball and then he used it well, he shouldnt be seen just as a crumbing fwd he is better than that, and he should be retired / traded or used properly (so he can be confident imo) giving him limited tog and a vest is a total waste.

Madmax75

Yer its almost sane to say that if we can get Dids to 2010 form then we should be a good chance at the flag he was such a factor in 2010. Very good points made re Bucks strategy with him but surely having played with him and seen his effect on our team when used properly he will give him a go. He has to be in the second tier of midfielders to compete with guys like Wojinski Corey etc at Geelong and Shiels etc at Hawthorn for us to be a chance to win it all. So for me hes in for now and only out if hes stuck in a pocket in our NAB Cup games. Fasolo is a factor and potential replacement re Menzel for Stevie J but not at Dids level yet and our time is now. Im going to have another look and do draft 2 taking in your comments and then probably leave until I see the NAB Cup.
Thanks!
