To be honest I think NRR is a BS decider for a FINAL. Should be like real life cricket, seeing as Pineapples won the first two rounds, therefore sorta winning the series Pineapples should retain the trophy.

We only agreed on NRR being the decider to decide who got into the final if that other match was tied... but deciding a FINAL on NRR?  :-\

Poor Nails, would you have said this if you'd beaten Q?

It's like the final of the A League, if they have a draw, they go into extra time, etc to try and decide the winner. They don't decide that the team who won the most matches during the season wins...

You're going back to the old Brownlow countback days (whoever got the most 3 votes, etc)

I'm not going down that road that everyone's been down before... No way!

I'm just saying that we agreed to have a GF, and NRR is the only way to settle it, unless we do a replay.

That's my point...

What we're doing is pretty much "who scored the most runs"

It's like using your A League example... scores tied at 3-3, oh well Sydney got 11 shots and we only got 9, Sydney wins... D:

I think there should be a definitive decider, not just NRR.

Fletch74

Well, that's how FTP is separated in a league... NRR is fair as it also takes into account if a team is bowled out withing 50 overs, and that can make a big difference

The fact that Pyro was bowled out at about 25 overs kills the NRR, so it not all about runs scored, it's also about the protection of your wickets.

Net Run Rate explained / An explanation of cricket

Net Run Rate (NRR) has become the preferred method of breaking ties in multi-team one-day international tournaments. It is often misunderstood, but really quite simple to understand.

A team's net run rate is calculated by deducting from the average runs per over scored by that team throughout the competition, the average runs per over scored against that team throughout the competition.

In the event of a team being all out in less than its full quota of overs, the calculation of its net run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which it would have been entitled and not on the number of overs in which the team was dismissed.

Only those matches where results are achieved will count for the purpose of net run rate calculations. Where a match is abandoned, but a result is achieved under Duckworth/Lewis, for net run rate purposes Team 1 will be accredited with Team 2's Par Score on abandonment off the same number of overs faced by Team 2. Where a match is concluded but with Duckworth/Lewis having been applied at an earlier point in the match, Team 1 will be accredited with 1 run less than the final Target Score for Team 2 off the total number of overs allocated to Team 2 to reach the target.

I wonder when we'll get final results. :P  :-\

I would prefer to use this option too, but we have decided on NRR so that is how it will stand.

roo boys!

Don't worry guys, I got this one ;)

Nah I would be more confident if I still had some of my old blokes but the youngers players would be dragging my ratings below 200k for sure.

I reckon RB you will also need the pitch to be sticky or cumbling so that you can bowl them out very quickly then chase it down quickly ;)

WAY 3 - PBP 2

HP v R&B is the only game remaining unless they cannot organise a match. If the game goes ahead and R&B wins, it'll go to NRR.
