DEF: G. Broughton, G. Johncock, C. Garland, R. Conca, B. Lake, C. Dempsey, A. Tomlinson (B. Ellis, L. Brown)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, D. Swan, J. Watson, R. Bastinac, A. Gaff, C. Wingard (D. Shiel, T. Mitchell)
RUC: P. Ryder, D. Cox (J. Giles, J. Jenkins)
FWD: L. Franklin, N. Fyfe, M. Hurley, J. Brown, A. Christensen, J. Porplyzia, D. Zorko (A. Treloar, S. Rowe)

DEF - I know this is low on top end talent but banking on Garland staying fit and continuing his late 2011 form, Conca taking big steps, Lake being rejuvinated under McCarthy, Dempsey returning to form quickly after his knee.

MID - Hopefully Watson will have an injury free year and maintain the early form from last year, a fit Bastinac is a proven scorer. Gaff is just a jet and should be more than a super sub as proven late last year.

RUC - Nothing to say really

FWD - Prepared to take the risk on Brown and Porps, if Hurley played that good last year with a stuffed foot he should improve considerably when fit, Christensen showed what he can do in the finals and is set to break out in a big way imo.

Obviously preseason/NAB cup will tell plenty. This has been done with minimal research with respect to injury, coaches comments for anyone for 2012 etc.

Hi Pweter, just how much cash have you got left? Heaps I'm assuming!

I'm gonna be blunt.
DEF: is crap, you will get wailed with such a flimsy backline.
MID: Ok, what makes you think GAFF won't be subbing it hard like he did last year? Will Wingard be in Ports best 22?
RUCK: Ok, different.
FWD: Good.

I'd give your team 5/10. Would be uncompetitive in its current form.

PICCOLLO

Backline is the issue.  Goddard and Deledio are must haves these days.  I don't mind Johncock who is capable.  See how and where Broughton plays under LYon- he could be a rebounding def/mf in which case keep him but he could get swallowed up with Fyfe, Mundy, Pav, Morabito, Barlow etc lurking in mids.
Wingard may not get games early.
Gaff is a bold but fine choice.  Bastinac? Hmm not sure there- I think a round 1 GWS pick will match him for points and save some cash.
FWDs and RUCs are good.

Bit of tweaking needed.

DEF: ok so turn johncock, garland and lake into goddard delidion and rook then you will have a good DEF.
MID: ok so turn watson, bastinac and gaff into 2 premiums and a rook or 2 premium 1 mid (like barlow) and a rook and you will have a good MID
RUCK: ryder sux!!! sorry thats personal after his shiezen effort last season, change him to ANYONE and get stephensen.
FWD: mid priced extravaganza here, for me too many risks, hurley = martin and props = rook.

I'm no expert but i feel the gun/rook is the best strategy and there is both a heck of a lot of risky mid pricers and premiums in your side.

still you could go really well and prove me and the otehr commenters wrong good luck ;)
