Out of the players under $400,000, who do you think could/would/should have a breakout year in each category. Ruck division can be under $500,000. What do you think they will average, and postion/role they will play in their team. And will you pick this player?

Man what a huge question, I am not going to answer more than my top 5 now due to having no time to.

Martin
Trengove
Side bottom
Zaka
Christensen

There are so many more that could should would.

You're a year late on most of those guys Colliwobblers. A breakout year is generally considered to be a 25+ point rise. Martin won't average 125.

Ziplock

it really depends. IMO if you're at a premium level (100+) a breakout year could be defined as an increase of 10 points.

Colliwobblers

Yeah fair point meow meow I am thinking more of elevation to gun/premium level rather than breaking out, still as usual Zip makes the point best of all, so meh, whatever defines a breakout player great, those guys I listed are going to average well higher than their price suggests and many are looking at them all as either breakout or bargain guns in the making for 2102. But nvm them are there any others ?

CrowsFan

I'll give 1 player and a smokey for each position :)

Back
Tony Armstrong - should do a great job running off the half back flank up at Sydney. I reckon he could up his average to high 80's at least.

Smokey - Colin Garland, averaged 104.8 in the last 5 rounds of the season. Not sure if his role changed for those games, but something seemed to work...

Mid
Ryan Bastinac - training very well apparently in pre season. Missed the first half of last season due to an injury, but is fully fit now and should rack up the possessions.

Smokey - Brad Ebert. What will he achieve back in his home state. Could do wonders at Port.

Ruck
Matthew Lobbe - Should be the number 1 ruck at Port now that Brogan has gone. Showed a few glimpses of high scores last season towards the end.

Smokey - Will Minson. Risky, but with Hudson gone could be the number 1 at the Dogs. When he has played in the past usually scores quite well.

Forward
Brendan Whitecross - Clarko rates him extremely highly and due for a lot of time in the midfield next season according to him. Could average high 80's.

Smokey - Tom Hawkins. Great second half of the season, especially finals where he averaged 100.6 in the 3 games. Finally showing his potential.

Well they are my thoughts anyway ;)

meow meow

Howard to average 80+

Redden to average 110

essendon33

Along with Crowsfan i really think hawkins may be in for a big one.. he showed more than enough in the grand final that he can be a dominating big man up front, he looked unbeatable...
however that been said he has to get off the couch every week so he may be worth the punt, but at that price im not so sure

Also worth looking at:
zaka - played bball with this bloke and hes a freak at whatever he does, you know he will put in the effort for another big one!
Palmer! - looked good a freo first year, hasnt showed anything since... new team maybe? even scully if teams dont choose to tag (someone has to get the touches you would think)

Other than that if you like 2nd years josh caddy is still 250k odd and morabito coming back from an injury is 200k

Good luck mate

Purple 77

Backline

Jack Grimes - If fit, will average around 90-105 IMO

Midfield

Varcoe may hit it off, but at best i think will average 85-90
Agree with Bastinac as well, i think its time to hit the big scene basty!
Liam Anthony may also get to his debut year success and further that

Ruck

Trent West for mine, if he is put in the main ruck position, an 85 average will come his way IMO

Forward

Jonathon Brown, if he counts, just a tad under 400k, if injury free, like he usually (besides '11) is, will average in the 100's for sure.

Kurt Tippett might actually start doing things as well

Colliwobblers

how about Nathan Van Berlo liftin his average 10-15 does that earn him B/O status, if he continues to improve and thomo gets the tag and he is left free it is possible he will have a great season ????
