Just did the first draft of my 2012 team on the fanplanner please tell me what you think.

Backs- Goddard, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Lake, Buntine, Wilkes ( J.Brennan, Tom Curran)

Mids- Pendlebury, Swan, M.Murphy, M.Barlow, Coniglio, Wingard (Sheridan, O'Meara)

Rucks- Sandilands (Trying To Make It Cox), Longer (Giles, Daw)

Forwards- Franklin, Pavlich, Martin, Rioli, Didak, Patton, Dick (Cook, Elton)

Backs: No need to comment further on the Grimes/Lake debate as enough has been siad already about risk.  Personal Decision for you.
Mids: Solid with 4/2 structure
Rucks: Weakness here definitely.  If you get Cox in All your Rucks will have bye in Round 11 unless you have traded well prior. Would not consider Longer at this point in time as I doubt he will be a starter in Brisbane's 22 with both Hudson and Berger available Could be a downgrade target later on especially if Giles is up. Same Applies to Daw, So you may have to reconsider your Ruck Structure,
Forwards Dick is on Rookie list so unless elevated will not play, Do not like the risk of both Rioli with his dodgy hamstrings and Didak  :o Enough said.

Not commenting on all rookie choices as NAB Cup will dictate,

Omeara won't play this year! Patton will miss the start of the year. As ringo stated dick on rookie list just watch for elevation. Didak will be the interesting one to see how bucks uses him I'll be watching him closely also.
Rucks hmmm, this mite be a option DG rioli> porps then longer < cox or another prem ruck not sure what that $ will get you. Also daw> Rowe/witts but wait and see nab

Yeah Patton and dDck wont play at the start of the year, Saad from the saints looks tp be a good pick up for similar price, perhaps Tommy Walsh as well but thats what we watch the nab cup fpr. Clifton should be in all teams for me (in omera's spot). Lake > Bower and Rioli > Winderlich should get you enough money to bring in Cox and to me Bower should score as much as Lake, and Winderlich could be be a very handy F7 by the end of the year I think and ave 90. Just a few ideas. Would do something to bring in Cox or another preium ruck (Mumford, Leun, Goldstien) as I think its important to have two good rucks from the start.

DEF: Nice balance with guns/rooks and with byes. not sold on bower but the other three great.
MID: very strong
RUCK: very brave, one less premium than i would be comfortable with, right rooks tho so GL
FWD: solid enoug htho i would downgrade porps to a rook and upgrade NRoo to a GUN. good rooks again.

Overall very nice team, brave ruck but that allows your super strong mid. (1 more premium than most)

agree with CW about Bower, not seeing him in the plans for the Blues this year with them trying to IMPROVE.. just sayin
strong mid, maybe a bit overdone with 5 premos.. & think Shiel will be more of a DT player than SC
nice rookie ruck setup
not sure about the fwd rookies but might want to be careful selecting 2 injured players in Roo & Porpus

Hi Loci, pretty good team, the only observation I'd make is that your FWD's lack depth (3 x rookies starting on field). The only suggestion I would make would be to downgrade your 5th DEF prem/mid (Heppell) to a cheaper player and upgrade a fwd rookie. 7/10.

Reasonably sound team 7/10
Agree three starting rookies in mids may be risky. Whilst Heppel will be great you may be exposing forward line so I would look at downgrading one of Broughton or Heppell based on NAB cup form and how being used to a lower priced defender eg Conca, Grima, Grimes or Lake and upgrade a rookie forward to a mid prem with money saved.
