Gratz impromptu good job.

As for Lake well he was fit as when he returned late last season and can and should be in your side especially at his price and if he goes bottums up then you can always trade out. But I do not think this will be the case. I'm prediciting at least 80+ for him and for me in def with his price tag of mid 250k you'd be an idiot not to test him out.

Not going to pick him for my team. Not worth it at that price.

At that price? LOL He cost next to nothing lol

Fit as when he returned? Strange he didn't play any games after round 11 then...

his price isnt that awkward. if he fails, it would be a little worse than a failed rookie. but i dont even know if he is going to be playing. he didnt get much of a run last year.

He is awkwardly priced.

Colliwobblers

I guess when you are talking finishing first (congrats impromptu) the scores the costs and the points are magnified and it can make or break you.

I want lake, but i also want conca, what about grimes and waters and  and and there is a limit is thier not to the amount of mid/low priced potential guns/keepers we can have.

But Lake was pivitol and toted as a major reason for the failed doggies defence last year. I think he is an integral and ultra important part of their backline and if he is fit and confident he will be the linchpin of thier defence, whether that can translate into DT success or not i do not know, but fit and confident and on the ground round 1 surely he can only make us money as a rook would - at worst

i havent got him i have waters and conca but my defence is so far from set it could go any which way. One other thing that favours lake is his round 11 bye,

Torress

the game seems to suit the way lake plays these days. he is good one on one, but with a flooded backline he can mop up. if he is fit its hard to say no. he still has 2 months to lure us.
and nice work impromtu, i feel like i'm around royalty! so what did you do with the 50k mate???

enzedder

Wait till pre season is done. If he's done well it's a no brainer.

Cruiseon

He could well be the most picked player in 2012.

Bingo. Like many players, he is very close to being picked in my team but I have to monitor NAB cup.

Danstar

Lake is getting to 100% fitness. Probably is about 80-90% at the moment. Will have to wait till at Least NAB Cup (if he plays) to see how he goes. But at 100% fit will possibly see him as a potential upgrade later on in the year.

I'm not sure he is an upgrade target. For me after assessing his fitness hopefully in a couple fo NAB Cup games it will be either pick him from the start with a discounted price or concede that he is not up to it.

I'm wondering why everyone's so unsure about Lake.
Yeah he's held together by sticky tape but just pick him.
He's cheap. ($260K keeper)
A SC gun.
Out achieved nothing as a coach Eade in SC star Lake.

Seems you already know why?

I'm a little unsure about the last line of your post   ???

But Lake held together with sticky tape nice analagy. I think a ton of people will pick him, but only after they see how strong the sticky tape is through nab cup.

He could become a bargain keeper as you say, or at worst he could be a high scoring last to upgrade super cash cow, either one is a win for those that pick him. :)

On the otehr hand if the sticky tape falls off in round 3 well, that would kinda be bad :(

What I meant by that was that the new coach McCartney (Eade out) gives life to Lake (Lake in).

I never rated Eade.  Grumpy prick who could never get the best out of his team.

Might be because I'm an essendon man and have no time for anyone associated with Hawthorn apart from a couple of my family members!

Lake was Eades scape goat for years. Huge personality clash between the two. Obviously eades gone now so hopefully it will allow Lake the opportunity to play a full season...body pending .

Yeah the sticky tape comment is funny.

Hopefully more like liquid nails!

He'll be fit enough.

He'll play 18 plus games at an average of 100 plus points...pick him.

HevvieEvvie

Yep, he's in my team. there's not much risk in him compared to he's potential so lock him in!

The calf injury not too reassuring though  :-\
