Fair to say that Fremantle have been a basket case. Even more evident when the Eagles go from the bottom to top 4 within a year. Freo have to get their club together.

We have a core of experienced players

Pav - Champion
Sandi - Quality
McPharlin - I still think he should have been AA instead of Reid
Mundy - nearly 150 games
Dawson - 2(3) grand finals
McPhee - 200 games

Exciting Youth
FYFEY!!!
Hill
Barlow
Morabito
Suban
Ballantyne
Broughton
Clarke
Silvagni
Mzungu
Mayne
DeBoer

The thing that is of concern though I think is how many productive years does Pavlich, Sandilands, McPharlin and McPhee have left? They have Clarke to cover Sandi and Silvagni to possibly cover McPharlin (big shoes to fill), but who will replace Pav??  It's a shame that Freo has had one of the best athletic/versatile CHF players in this generation and hasn't really made the most of it. Can you imagine how much more of a gun Pav would be if he played in say Riewoldt's place??

This is the worry now, they need to find a fwd line from somewhere. All of those youngster's that you named above only two of them have played in a more permanent fwd role and that is Mayne and Balla, and they're both 4' nothing practically.

I really want Freo to succeed, but their future Fwd line needs to be addressed. And no Kepler is not the answer!

Mayne is taller than you think at 188cm but he is a 3rd tall and not a FF/CHF.  There has been plenty of discussion amongst Freo fans that we really need some KPF - especially during the draft (myself included).

I think Pav would have been able to get the Saints across the line but then most people on here know my thoughts about the over-rated Roo.  Pav has proven loyalty as well as to be a champion and deserves to go down as the greatest ever Docker and one of the champions of the game.  Lets hope that these youngsters can step up and allow him be remembered as a premiership player and not just a champion (like Robert Harvey)

My bad re Mayne. They're lucky for now that they still have the Pav who is still a more than capable footy player at CHF, but they really need to start cloning someone. I believe that Clarke will become a great ruckman and you have the midfield talent as well as a nice spread between shut down and attaching backmen. The achielles heel will become the forward line. It's important just to have a Mooney type at least. He may not kick a heap of goals but he's someone with great pysical presence who can bring the ball to ground.

To my two favourite Freo supporters Valk & Cic, can I ask a simple question for which I would like a one word answer (no ranges).

Where do you think Freo will finish on the ladder after the home and away season for 2012?

188 isn't tall at all for a footballer these days. Ryan Griffen and Judd are that tall.

A Zac at each end of the ground will do wonders for this team, and I can see them finishing 4th if they get a decent run with injuries.
