It's pretty dodgy how they sacked Harvey, but Lyon is a far better coach. Don't be surprised if Freo finishes 4th this year.

If Harvey was a great coach why was Pav in the middle and Palmer in the forward line (when he was in the team).  If Harvey was such a good coach we would have had a game plan that everyone could understand.

Roos Lyon (IMO) is a far better coach - he took a bunch of average players to 2 (I cant bring myself to say 3) grand finals.  If it was such a bad way that they sacked him please tell me how they could have done it any better?

Ross Lyon is a proven performer that has taken is team to the big dance more than once! Up until now the Frmantle Football Club rarely buys a calendar that goes past August because that's usually the end of the year for them! Great time to turn the culture of Freo around.

how is this negative we had our best players come into their prime during those years

Sandi, Pav, Bell, Haselby and Hayden were already top quality players during this period - who came in to their prime during this time?

The only one I can think of is Crowley who developed in to one of the most feared taggers during this period.

The Carr brothers were in declining or screwing us by returning to Port
Jeff Farmer was inconsistent (when he was on he was awesome but did a lot of silly shower)
McManus, Cook, Solomon, Des, Black were all past their best (which wasn't fantastic to start with)
Ibbo, Palmer, Mayne were recruited at the end of this period. 
Mundy was still a half back who appeared to be an average player at best and didn't step up until 2009
Robert Warnock went home
Tarrant was useless in the forward line
Duffman was battling for a place in the team and was on the rookie list in 2004 (might have just been promoted)
Schammer and Mark Johnson were best 22 midfielders
Peake - do I need to say anymore
Michael Johnson - hahahahahaha
Thornton - laughing stock
Grover - was still playing a role that he was 5cm too short for
Haddrill - he was in decline and could hardly stay on the park

Fair to say that Fremantle have been a basket case. Even more evident when the Eagles go from the bottom to top 4 within a year. Freo have to get their club together.

Which is why I cant understand why Cic is so negative about everything about Freo.  For the first time in a long time we have a squad of players which has a mixture of exciting youth and experience.

We have a core of experienced players

Pav - Champion
Sandi - Quality
McPharlin - I still think he should have been AA instead of Reid
Mundy - nearly 150 games
Dawson - 2(3) grand finals
McPhee - 200 games

And as much as people are divisionalised by the hiring of Lyon - at the end of the day we have a proven quality coach.
