Fyfe will rotate through the mid and forward, so will Ballantyne.

yep Harvey was back stabbed and treated like shower for what he gave to the club, but he is ok up in Lions land and getting the respect he deserves, he can coach but i think the dockers needed the change and i think they got a great new coach and agree with previous comments, maybe not top 4 but top 8 no question and with a bullet, they keep fit and healthy and they will impress under the new coach.

I predict a happy bunch of purple people this season tho the flag is awhile away yet the winning is on its way.

McRooster

Maybe Harvey's departure will blow the whistle on what should have produced a Premiership before now...

But if I was Voss I'd be pretty nervous....

Harvey was not treated like shower - you tell me how the club could have sacked Harvey any other way.  The club kept it out of the media so that Harvey heard it from the club (face to face) first and not "leaked" by the media.  I agree that Harvey gave his all for the club but Lyon is a better coach.

The whole Harvey sacking was blown out of proportion by the media because they were upset and didn't get a sniff of it first (they had to write about something)

@mcrooster - I have always said that our window didnt open until 2012.  2011 definitely hurt us with regard to injuries (see what I did there ;) ) but it gave some depth players a chance to show what they have which can only help us moving forward.  No as much as having our best players on the park though.

I agree there is not much more you can do when getting rid of a coach. It's a tough game and Harvey got the sack, he didn't expect it, he didn't like it and it was kept out of the media.

Lyon is the one who behaved poorly. He led along St.Kilda, there was no inclination of him leaving or a succession plan so St.Kilda were left to pick a coach after at least 4 or 5 other new coaches had been appointed. When I interview or hire an employee I am always mindful of how they intend leaving their existing job because what goes around comes around. Freo might want to remember this.

I see your point but look at it from the other point of view.  Normally its the club that gives the heave ho to the coach - its about time a coach got one on the club ;)

To my two favourite Freo supporters Valk & Cic, can I ask a simple question for which I would like a one word answer (no ranges).

Where do you think Freo will finish on the ladder after the home and away season for 2012?

Mark harvey was back stabbed and treated unfairly he deserves to be the coach of fremantle and ross lyon should have his backside kicked for it mark harvey did nothing wrong injuries screwed them over not him. >:(

Good to see you are up to date :P

If Harvey was a great coach why was Pav in the middle and Palmer in the forward line (when he was in the team).  If Harvey was such a good coach we would have had a game plan that everyone could understand.

Roos Lyon (IMO) is a far better coach - he took a bunch of average players to 2 (I cant bring myself to say 3) grand finals.  If it was such a bad way that they sacked him please tell me how they could have done it any better?

I have 3 words to say

TOLD YOU SO!!!

In fairness, no reason to think Mark Harvey wouldn't have made the finals also! Guess we'll never know....

Ziplock

I reckon harvey would have made finals as well- freos injuries this year have been far less sevre.

Let me ask these questions.

Would Pav be in the midfield still
Would Crowley still be 9kg heavier and playing as a forward (and prob delisted/traded at the end of this year)
Would DeBoer be in the midfield
Would Clancee be playing
Would Walters be given a stern ultimatum and respond
Would Johnson be in career best form
Would Mayne be in career best form

You are probably right valk :) Freo I confess I don't study that much

Ziplock

maybe not, but I'm sure he would have made it up in other ways :P

honestly, I thought you guys would have made finals last year if injuries hadn't been so ridiculous.

Cicjose

harvey would have created a shootout every week

lyon has created the stingiest defence in the league with firing and fit forwards
