Insider out

Both will increase average. Both in my team

I like them both just squeezed out Christensen the other day he might make it back in tho. The reason i kept Brown was the fact his bye is round 11 opposed to Christo's round 12 bye.

Matt_352

both good picks in my opinion

Colliwobblers

yeah i had both but i favour christensen out of the pair, mainly because he is the next big thing at the cattery thats in thier own words. And brown will either get injured or cop NRoo's triple teamed treatment from last year. (maybe)

I had to lose brown to get conca in the backs so now i have to choose between grimes and brown....

I tend to agree that Christo will do better im just having problems deciding which way to go with this bye shower.

Will having 3 round 12 bye players be a problem ? are you going to upgrade before the bye rounds and end up with 3 round 12 bye players anyway.

Will you sideways trade ? Is Christo a keeper or cow ? how many of your players do you think will need to be upgraded during the year ? how many is a good number 7-8-9-10 ?

How many trades do you think you will need to complete your team ? Do you think then you will have enough to reduce the damage of the bye rounds ? Will you have enough to avoid donuts after the bye rounds ?

Also the lack of Premium Forwards-Backs that have the round 11 bye is frustrating.

Lots of questions, well what i learnt from my maiden DT year last year is trades had to be kept for the finals byes, (not so this year)

So you need to keep trades for injuries i guess and i am not sure how many but i imagine you have less as the seasons gets closer to its end.

I would not have more than 2 premiums or keeprs in any position in any bye round until after the bye rounds (unless you have dpp options to bring in cover during that bye round. Your rooks dont matter so much as most of them will be upgraded by the byes anyway or can be traded during the byes to avoid the donuts.

Team get finalised funnily enough (when you do it right about bye time (so maybe not that early this year) but by rounds 14-16 i think you would want to be very close to having all your upgrades done and all your premiums on the ground.

Christo will be a keeper [ fingers crossed ] if not no problem he will be an almost sideways trade to a premium .

You upgrade all your rooks all of them unless any ala heppel curnow become keepers.

You upgrade your mid priced players if the y fail !!! you only want them to be keepers when you recruit them. the $200K to $300K players can be used as cash cows but around $300K or more you wont make much and if you do they are performing well enough to be a keeper so yeah.

Trades will be used in 3 ways and ask the more experienced guys on here for the numbers you want of each category.

1. Upgrades of rooks failed midpricers and failing premiums (included downgrades of cashed up rooks to pay for the upgrades)
2. Bye Rounds
3. LTI long term injuries

you wont avoid donuts in the bye rounds IMO, minimize it by using the trades hopefuly mainly only in rnds 12 and 13 and have 2 of each only premium/keeper in each line on each bye round this will help.

Thanks for the info Colliwobblers appreciated. But they were more like statements rather than questions. Its frustrating me a little ( byes ).I think these are all valid questions that we need to ask ourselves when making a team. I have been on Fanfooty for 3-4 years now i just have a different account. I have been playing DT since it was in the newspaper not quite sure how many years that is....

Sorry to ramble on in your thread flying hawk   :-X
