Ponting the best when he was in his peak. Batted at 3 which is possibly the toughest position to bat in whereas Lara and Dulks batted at 4 which is easier. Dulks also scores most of his runs on the slow subcontinent

im amazed Kallis does not get the kudos he deserves, he has taken like 250 wickets at a good average aswell as his batting stats measuring up against these guys... clearly the media hype train carries a lot of weight cos this dude is an all time great.

most probably dont even consider him the greatest all rounder of all time but i bet he measures up against any u throw up...

I'm right with you on this one Marcz. Kallis is definitely one of the greatest cricketers of all time and certainly one of the greatest all-rounders of all time.

Garfield Sobers, Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, Richard Hadlee and Imran Khan are all up there as well as greatest all-rounders.

You are indeed right. Cricinfo haven't updated that and I had forgotten.

Going further, not only he did make 224, but he's taken 5 catches, taken a wicket and is consistently bowling 140kph deliveries. The guy is a freak of nature.
