Anyone can call me bias if you want but Maric is clearly the break out player of the year by a long long way..

The guy was playing in the seconds last year because he couldnt get a game and now he has had perhaps an all Australian season.

Jetta, Beams, Sidey, Danger.. all having fantastic years but really its just natural progression, they werent playing in the 2's 12 months ago

Agree with you 'tiger'.

Mullet Maric got to be close to most broken out this year.

Looking at tooserious ytd rises of non rookies

Maric
Pfeiffer
Porps
B McLean!!
Jetta.

I think Maric just shades him, but i think Jetta is clearly second. In no way is SydRox being biased as it is an opinion that can be backed up based on Jetta's current year to date.

Jetta will probably be AA this season. He has been so damaging off the HFF this year but goes unnoticed like the rest of the Sydney team.

And the worst SC $ drops

Moloney
Mumford
Johncock
Mundy
Cloke - show me the money!

Kieren Jack?

Not really a breakout player but someone who could return to 2010 form is Kieren Jack. Average of 100 in 2010 and it dropped to 80 last season. He had ankle injury against Carlton in round 6 last year (I think it was around half time and he still scored 70.) and could not regain consistent form or get his body right.

I said it earlier this year I thought he would return to his best and fairest winning form from 2010.  I think he has been the breakout player of this year. He has become one of the most dangerous midfielders forward of center in the comp.

Still unsure as to how you can consider this more of a breakout than Maric who was playing in the seconds last year and is now one of the best ruckman in the comp?

Read the article and you will understand why. Jack has lifted his game to an elite level. He was the Swans best run with player and has now become their best and most damaging midfielder. Also this thread was initially about players who would breakout in terms of SC performance as well. Jack has become the most dominant player in SC since round 8.

You 2 should start a poll.  :D

Read the bolded line. He was tagging at the start of the year which was affecting his score. An example of this is against Freo. He shut Stephen Hill out of the game but did not accumulate much of the ball in the process resulting in an ishy score.

You can pick chunks out of anyones season though and say "they were the best in those weeks" but supercoach runs from round 1 to round 23.. Not from round 8-16

No doubting hes had a great season but Maric from round 1 has been dominant and is the second highest avg and total out of every ruckman.. hence why he is the breakout player of the year

Which means we still have a few more weeks before the season is over. I still think Jacks form this year, especially since he was released from his tagging role has been amazing. Playing in a smaller market he does not get noticed anywhere near as much as someone who plays in Melbourne. You also say that Maric has come from playing in the twos to being a top two ruckman. You have to remember he was stuck behind Sam Jacobs who is having an All Australian type season. All the hype early in the year for the Swans was around Josh Kennedy. Jack has surpassed him and is being tagged by the opposition teams and still hurting them.

Yep the season will throw up other names from here on in im sure but I think Maric would have to completely fall over in the last 6 games for him not to be considered the breakout player of the year.
Yeah he was stuck behind Jacobs, but Jacobs wasnt half the player last year that he is this year.. and Maric had never been good even before that. His highest avg was 72

And Kennedy is the second highest ranked player in the whole game so how can jack have surpassed him?

As in he has surpassed him as the Swans number 1 midfielder. Kennedy has slowed down since his hot start to the year and Jack has been getting tagged the last few weeks as he is hurting the opposition more.
