Rookie PLayer Rating (MID/FWD) 6/10 - Had a solid season last year and can find the footy and led the VFL side in goals kicked. But has very poor job security in a healthy Cats lineup. Would look for better options.

Matthew Arnot please.

Matthew Arnot

Arnot is a hard-working defender

TAC Cup Grand Final and is creative with his
hands and quick on his feet. Took the Tigers’
eye with his competitive nature.

Rookie PLayer Rating (DEF) 7/10 - Fits the mold of Hardicks plan, hard players tackles and wins the hard ball and creative out of defence. Has been named as emergency several times yet to debut. You would think the Tigers want senior games into him this season, but in for who? Job security an issue but sure to appear at some stage this season. Can play but clearly recruited to be developed in the skills area already having the mindset Hardwick wants a season in the VFL is on the cards too. Risky pick.

The Player - Small forward with incredible strength and speed. Marks unbelievably well for his size. His style of play has seen comparisons drawn with Paul Medhurst and Stephen Milne. Has impressed with his tackling and defensive work in attack.

2011
Played as a top-age player for the Murray Bushrangers in the U18s. Kicked 10 goals in his five games for the Bushrangers and impressed with his forward pressure while playing for Vic Country in the U18 National Championships.

Was pre-listed by Greater Western Sydney and was traded to Collingwood along with Martin Clarke and draft selection No. 67 in exchange for pick No. 25. Travelled to Arizona as part of Collingwood’s high altitude training camp late in the year.

2010
Played for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup 18s, and played two matches for Collingwood’s VFL team as a top-up player (against Box Hill and North Ballarat) in the middle of the season.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6.5/10 - A solid rook and in a lesser side you would jump on, however at the Pies his job security is a concern, played 3 games and has done everything right, was outstanding in the VFL to date and earned his spot in the senior side, expect him to play more senior games over the season and with Didak out his spot is a little more secure than originally thought.

The Player - Played 13 Colts games and two league games for Claremont in 2011.  Represented WA at the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships, catching the eye with his ability to break the lines, along with his evasiveness and long left foot kicking. He is a good player one-on-one, and impressed with his attack on the ball when he stepped up into the WAFL seniors.

2011
Moved from Albany to Perth in January and played for the Claremont Colts for most of the year. Managed two senior matches for Claremont where he impressed with his hardness and attack on the ball. Represented Western Australia in the U18 National Championships where he averaged 16.3 disposals and impressed with his long left foot kicks. Was working as a fencer when he discovered he’d been rookie listed by Collingwood with pick No. 35.

2010
Spent his year playing Colts for Claremont in the WAFL.

2009
Played for North Albany in Western Australia.

Marley Williams
Derek Hine has a rich history of plucking gems from the deepest waters in the rookie draft and he may have found another one in 18-year-old Western Australian Marley Williams. It’s only early days, but the 35th selection in the 2012 Rookie Draft has made a terrific start to his AFL career.

Starting as the substitute in the first match of the competition, Williams was quickly summed into action when Brent Macaffer left the ground with a ruptured ACL. He kicked two long goals and appeared conditioned to the hustle and bustle of senior football.

In three matches, Williams has won 18 disposals with the excellent efficiency of 83.3%, ranking him alongside Simon Buckley (24 disposals), Martin Clarke (six), Michael Hartley (12) and Luke Rounds (six) as the most accurate player at the club by hand and foot.

He has shown an appetite for the contest, winning 11 of his 18 disposals in the contest, as well as recording three clearances and three tackles. Williams’ differential between contested and uncontested possessions is one of the highest at the club. Only senior regulars Alan Toovey (16 contested and seven uncontested) and Chris Dawes (10 contested and four uncontested) have returned stronger contested figures.

Rookie PLayer Rating (MID) 6/10 - Again and even more so than Elliott, Williams job security is poor, with pendles to return I don't see how he stays in the side unless he is in for Didak rather than Elliott. Kid has shown plenty tho and should play more senior games this season, didn't stop me downgrading to him last week, options were far from plentiful. With Gibson to debut this week for North and potentially Morabito back soon, Williams may be too risky to pick. Still should play more games as required and possibly when the matches are easy and senior pies get rested.

The nephew of Michael Long was delisted at the end of last season, but a solid training regime over the summer earned him another opportunity. He is a smooth and composed half-back who has been held back by injury at Essendon.

Draft history: 2009 NAB AFL Draft 2nd round selection (Essendon) No. 33 overall.

Rookie Player Rating (DEF) 7/10 - Poor JS, imagine they will want some senior games into him, but just as likely a full season in the VFL is on the cards, injury plagued in his first 2 seasons, very talented will play a role similar to Dempsey's so an injury to Dempsey his best chance of a debut. Has potential if he can stay fit.

Taylor Duryea of the Hawks please

Taylor Duryea
#41   Hawthorn Hawks
Age: 21yr 1mth    Games: 0     Born: April 24, 1991
Height: 179cm     Weight: 78kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 5, Pick #69 2009 National Draft
Last Drafted By: Hawthorn Hawks
Supercoach Price: $113,200
Dreamteam Price: $104,200

VIDEO:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyJYWScQirk

Duryea is a natural-born small forward but he could not break into the Hawthorn side in his second year at the club. He struggled to find the goals in his 12 games with the Box Hill Hawks and then ankle injury brought his season to a premature end. He is currently behind Luke Breust in the pecking order for a game in the senior side and he will have to work hard to move ahead of the 'super-sub'.

Draft history: 2009 NAB AFL Draft 5th round selection (Hawthorn) No. 69 overall.

Stats (averages for U18 TAC Cup)
Games     K     H     D     M    G  H/O
      7    11    8    19    3    0    1

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/86947/default.aspx

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/hawks-plan-hodge-return-20120607-1zz0w.html

Duryea plays in the forward line and has had serious trouble with durability over the years. He is a talented player, with a terrific ball winning ability, but can't seem to stay on the field. He finished up early in 2011, for an operation, to ensure he has a full pre-season.

Yet to play a senior game with Hawthorn, Duryea suffered an ankle injury last year that saw him struggle to break into the senior side. Coming to the Hawks from the Murray Bushrangers in 2009, the left-footer has been playing with Box Hill in both the seniors and reserves. He was listed as an emergency in the first five rounds of the season but was unable to make the starting 22.

If he can stay on the park, he may get an opportunity later in the season, but is still behind Luke Breust.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6/10 - Another case of on the fringe and uncertain job security, playing well in the VFL but not outstanding, injury intrepted season last year after an ordinairy season to boot. Is a great kick and the Hawks love that. Should get some senior action soon but cannot see him holding a spot without significant injury at the hawks.

could you do Brad Harvey as well please Col

Brad Harvey
#45   Brisbane Lions
Age: 20yr 1mth    Games: 0     Born: April 16, 1992
Height: 185cm     Weight: 83kg     Position: Defender, Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #13 2010 Rookie Draft
Last Drafted By: Brisbane Lions
Supercoach Price: $113,200
Dreamteam Price: $104,200

VIDEO:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG3ypbecbfw

Introduction
Brad Harvey is an athletic half-back who excelled at the 2010 AFL Draft Combine in the sprint and leap tests. Since arriving at the Lions via the 2010 AFL Rookie Draft, he has undergone a significant development program with the Lions Reserves in a bid to make his senior AFL debut.

Background
• Harvey went to school at Yarra Valley Grammar in Victoria and caught the attention of AFL recruiters with some eye-catching performances with the Eastern Ranges U18 side in the TAC Cup competition.

• His performances proved good enough for selection in Victoria Metro's team for the 2010 U18 Championships.

• At the 2010 AFL Draft Combine, Harvey proved a standout in the athletic testing. He ranked first in standing vertical leap (75cm), equal first in running vertical jump (88cm), second in the 20m sprint (2.78 sec) and second in repeat sprints (23.46 sec).

• He was surprisingly overlooked at the 2010 AFL National Draft, but was invited to join Melbourne's pre-season training squad.

• However, it was the Lions who handed Harvey an opportunity by selecting him with Pick No.13 in the 2010 AFL Rookie Draft.

2011
• Harvey finished second behind Todd Banfield in the Club's pre-season speed testing, but like most Lions Rookies, started his career with the Club's Reserves side in the local NEAFL competition.

• He had a solid start to the season playing on a wing and across half-back, before being trialled on bigger forward opponents in a key back role.

• He also showed that he embodied a great deal of courage following a head-on collision with Gold Coast's Karmichael Hunt which resulted in a swollen eye. “Neither of them took a backward step, we were really proud of Brad for that,” Reserves Coach Nathan Clarke said.

• It proved an educational first season in the AFL, where he played a total of 16 NEAFL matches and gained valuable experience in a variety of roles.

Rookie Player Rating (DEF/MID) - 6.5/10 - very young not exactly a prime candidate to be considered AFL ready. However very quick and would provide great run and carry and has been kicking goals in the seconds, has limited opportunity in a healthy lions team but injury or form could see him force his way in. Has kicked 5 goals in his last 2 NEAFL games.
