All looking like downgrade targets

Mark Baguley
#46   Essendon Bombers
Age: 24yr 11mth    Games: 0     Born: May 21, 1987
Height: 180cm     Weight: 83kg     Position: Defender, Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #47 2011 Rookie Draft
Last Drafted By: Essendon Bombers
Supercoach Price: $94,700
Dreamteam Price: $85,800

The Bombers grabbed Baguley in the 2012 NAB AFL Rookie Draft after watching his elite kicking skills for VFL club Frankston. The well-balanced left-footer and smart ball-user was the designated kicker for the Dolphins last season.

Rookie Player Rating(DEF/MID) 7/10 - (much higher rating if not a rookie) Dominating in the VFL, cannot get a promotion to debut for the bombers, Del'ollio got the gig ahead of him. Needs to be elevated as mentioned as is still on the rookie list, has been exceptional in the VFL named BOG on multiple occassions. As soon as and IF he debuts upon promotion he will be one to snap up. Not like we are spoilt for options in DEF.

Courageous, athletic and hard at the contest, the 188cm forward is still a work in progress. Named as an emergency in the final two rounds of the 2011 season, he is getting closer to making his senior debut. Had a stellar pre-season, adding muscle and impressing on the training track. Young’s foot skills are one of his strengths.

DT BE = 16

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6.5/10 - JS a real concern, the kid has talent and is likely to get game time given the drop in effort from fellow port players. Has been going very well in the SANFL and earnt his senior games as a result. On the bubble and a low BE very hard to get on at this stage given the uncertainty of JS and the availability of Adams from GWS, a couple more sub affected games and low price rises may see him a viable downgrade target in 2 or 3 rounds.

McInnes was West Coast’s second pick at the 2011 NAB AFL Draft (No. 28 overall). A 196cm key forward with good skills and strong hands, he missed the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships through injury but impressed with his work-rate and consistency with WAFL club Perth, breaking into the senior team for the last game of the season. Is the nephew of former Eagles Michael Brennan and Robert Wiley.

Draft history: 2011 NAB AFL Draft priority selection (West Coast) No.28 overall.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - Generous rating for a KPP. Touted as a possible replacemetn for Kennedy, Guess the weagles feel they need a plethera of talls FWD. Has really impressed in the WAFL this season, had a quiet game last round which doesn't help his selection chances but taken with thier second pick they are sure to play him with Kennedy out? Would wait for his second game before jumping on difficult to predict how much TOG he will get and what role he will play amonst Darling, Cox, Cue Stick..

Luke Power

Hailing from Balwyn in Victoria, Luke played his junior football at Balwyn and in the TAC Cup for the Oakleigh Chargers. Luke was a member of the Vic Metro side that won the 1997 Under 18 National Championships and was named in the All-Australian side for his age group in 1995, 1996 and 1997.

The Lions selected him with pick number five in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft.

With 282 games and 226 goals under his belt, Luke has been one of the most celebrated and well-liked players in the AFL in recent years.

After three years in the Lions leadership group as Co-Captain in 2007 and 2008 and Vice-Captain in 2009 and 2010, Luke was appointed as the thirteenth President of the AFL Players Association in 2010. He now continues his association as a board member

Mid Priced PLayer Rating (MID/FWD) - Selectable as a FWD this season, Power is looking like a keeper for the FWD line. has made a big impact since going to the Giants and with Ahailpin out he will be rested less than he might have been before. Definately scoring better against the weaker teams. Can see him averaging in the 80's to potentially the 90's. Depending on how much time he gets in the midfield will ultimately detmine his average, played all his career as a midfielder that goes FWD. Can't see him going backwards from here but he will get some rest throughout the season, but then who won't?

Rookie Player Rating (FWD/MID) 9.5/10 - I could go on forever, mature aged, afl ready, club says ready to go round 1, his skills say a cross between sucklings kicking and a typical mid/fwd body and skillset. LOCK.

Re- assment as requested....

Re-assessed Rating 9/10 !

I don't change anything previously stated, he is going to be a SUPER STAR.

Here's some more info, that his sub effected game in a team that had it tough against the Pies near thier best who won the ball in most contests and turned the ball over relatively little.

I was at the game and the only Lion that scored well was Redden and that's because the kid can tackle and just NEVER gives up the contest.

Introduction
A quick and gutsy midfielder, Dayne Zorko dominated the local Queensland competition for a number of years before getting his chance at an AFL career. He has the pace, skill and determination to either run through the middle, or even provide an effective small forward option.

Background
• Originally from Surfers Paradise, Zorko Captained Queensland's U18 side in 2007, but was overlooked at the AFL National Draft.

• He joined Broadbeach's senior QAFL side as an 18 year-old and made an immediate impact with the Cats by winning the Club's Best & Fairest award.

• He went on to win four successive Broadbeach Best & Fairest awards and Captain Queensland's U21 side - but repeatedly failed in his attempt to find his way onto an AFL list.

• But an outstanding season in the NEAFL, which culminated in him winning the 2011 Syd Guildford Trophy as the Football Record Player of the Year, put Zorko back on the AFL recruiters' radar.

• Arguably most significant was his brilliant four-goal performance in Queensland’s narrow loss to Western Australia which also netted him the Zane Taylor Medal as best afield.

• He also finished just one vote shy of securing the 2011 Grogan Medal - which incidentally, was his third top 10 finish in the competition's highest individual honour across the past four seasons.

• Zorko was eventually snapped up by the Gold Coast SUNS as a Queensland Priority Selection, before then being on-traded to the Brisbane Lions in exchange for Pick No.34 in the 2011 AFL National Draft.

This guy should be in the Lions Best 22 every day of the week and he can play, wait another week to see how he goes, but it's more about his JS and VEST avoidablity not about his ability to play.

Broadbeach would be spewing haha ;D

Yeah your right, hopefuly now with the Suns and Giants zone selections and the amount of players they have taken out of the NEAFL, maybe recruiters from down south will look more closely at our talent up here...

Bombers Suck

grimreaper

I can either trade out Ellis for another rookie defender or move Smedts to defence and get another rookie forward...

Who should I be looking at bringing in? Already have Spurr (def), Treloar (fwd), Adams (fwd) and Hall (fwd)..

Which rookies are likely to get game time?
