Thanks for your help Colli.

I did pick up Goddard, move Martin to the forward line and I picked up Shiel who is a starting follower for GWS.

Team looks ok I think. Good luck for the year mate.

Carn the Maggies in 2012!!!

Clancee uses the ball well and is a quick mover who rarely gets beaten in a constest. Named All-Australian after his fantastic Under-18 National Carnival, where he was also named Most Valuable Player for WA, Clancee thoroughly deserved his position as captain of the Colts Team of the Year. Originally from the Swan Districts, Clancee also played League footy for Swan Districts.

Pearce debuted against Port Adelaide in round 11 of the 2009 season and backed up against Geelong a week later before injuring a hamstring. He impressed in both matches and earned a recall after a best-on-ground performance for Swan Districts the following week.
After three seasons with Fremantle, Clancee was delisted at the end of the 2011 season but stayed on to train with the team. After an impressive performance during 2012 pre-season training he has been re-rookie listed by the club.

Mid Priced Player Rating (MID/FWD) 7.5/10 - reckon he will be elevated if he hasnt already and I just havent heard or read about it yet. With injuries already growing as they do at the Fremantly injury farm, they will need solid back up options. This is the best pearce could have hoped for that was until he stayed on last year to train hard, same out and impressed in nab cup after being rookie listed by the club, and Lyons being a new coach will have new ideas on him, what they are we will have to wait and see, on nab cup potential he is good value but he is not cheap either.

Nab Cup form = Lock and Load playing for his career and has ability looks tough too.

Concerns = Played a lot in the middle - Barlow Mundy and Morabito all to return and Neale to also come in.

The hard-tackling forward made his AFL debut as a substitute against Essendon in round seven. The long-term prospect didn’t play again, returning to WAFL club Claremont, but showed good skills and awareness in traffic.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - tough mature AFL ready and had a great game in one of the earlier shortened NAB games. Is he in the best 22 probably not, will he get games? that's the question, there are 3 maybe 4 candidates to fill the fwd role vacated by LeCras and if it was a defensive tackling pressure fwd they wanted this would be the one, if it was a classy goal kicking player as LeCras is... maybe there is better maybe not. JS the big issue not ability. Watch to see if named and if named for round 1 will still be a slight gamble. On the other hand if he does play and smashes it he might cement a spot and be a great pick.

The 21-year-old from Hobart, flew up to the Gold Coast to train with the GC SUNS following the 2011 Draft and after impressing recruiters and coaches on the training track, Hall has been rewarded with a place on Gold Coast SUNS senior list.

The versatile Hall played in a number of positions for Hobart in 2011, starting the year as a forward before excelling late across halfback, where he caught the attention of a number of AFL recruiting scouts in the final game of the year against Lauderdale.

Hall is the son of former Hobart premiership player and Sydney Swans draftee Dale.

Rookie Player Rating (RUCK) 4/10 - no real chance of getting games, hasn't played in any of the NAB CUP games (long ones at least that i checked), a baby ruck takes a LONG time to develop and will be unlikely to see senior action without sever injuries to higher ranked ruckmen at the club. No news on the kid since he was rookie listed either.

David Swallow was overshadowed by other first-year players in his debut season, but none were more promising or consistent.

Swallow flew under the radar in his first season, but the No. 1 pick from the 2010 NAB AFL Draft was all class in his 21 games.

Averaging 20 disposals and showing clean hands, an ability to win the ball at stoppages and a flair for using it creatively when in space Swallow is an AFL star of the rise.

The supremely fit midfielder, Swallow (brother of North Melbourne captian, Andrew) swallow is also a leader in the making.

Player honours: NAB AFL Rising Star nominee 2011.
Brownlow Medal: 2011 votes 2; career votes 2.
Draft history: 2010 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (Gold Coast) No. 1 overall.

2011    21    76.3

4 tons high of 114 low of 36, 12 scores under 80. First year player totally as expected except the 4 tons, expect him to improve in 2012 break out? think another year for that but who knows, his life will be easier in 2012 with Caddy back.

3   David Swallow   19   6   25   1   0   3   1   0   0   0   85

For Nab cup game #4 the GCFC DT rankings were 1. Ablett. 2. Caddy 3. Swallow. Expect to see that very often this season.

Mid Priced Player Rating (MID) 8/10 - 2nd year blues? expensive, plenty of reasons you could come up with to skip the kid. Fact is he is all class, will be a star midfielder and will improve that 2011 average this season, question as always with yound 2nd and 3rd year players is by how much. GCFC will be better and so will Swallow in 2012, Caddy back in nab 4 did nothing to hurt swallows scoring and i expect it to help if anything. Smith will be better again in the ruck that will help too. Safe pick won't go backwards. Does need to eliminate quiet games he had last season to lift his average significantly this can only be done by the team improving and preventing getting smashed in the middle.

After an outstanding debut year in 2010, Martin consolidated that effort, enhanced his reputation and delivered another brilliant season which saw him finish third in Richmond’s B&F in 2011. The tough in-and-under warrior finished in the club’s top three for: kicks (311), disposals (486), contested possessions (194), contested marks, inside 50s (93), goals (33), goal assists (20) and wasn’t far off in tackles and clearances either. Pick three in the star-studded 2009 draft (Scully and Trengove) Martin boasts terrific skills, is an exceptional talent and cherished among Tiger supporters for his ruthless and unyielding attack on the ball.

Premium Player Rating (MID/FWD) 8.5/10 - If he was a midfielder only no one would have him, as a FWD he is a LOCK. will go close to a 100 average this year and is a GUN. BUT he is only entering his 3rd season and he will attract tags and he still doesn't know how to deal with them. Had a 34 possession game against the cats in nab cup, No tag first quarter and he had 26, for the next 3 quarters Taylor tagged him and he had less than 10 in 3 quarters. Won't be an elite midfield scores this season but he WILL be an elite scoring FWD. One of the most picked players for 2012, set and enjoy the ride.

The respected senior Eagle did not miss a game in 2011, proving his durability and passing the 150-game milestone to qualify for life membership at West Coast. Made way for younger brother Scott to become the club’s No. 1 run-with player, but remained a consistent shutdown option, both in the midfield and in defence. Leadership and willingness to put his body on the line remain great assets.

2009    21    88.0
2010    16    92.1
2011    22    65.6

2011 WRAP: High of 103 his only ton, played every game low of 43 one of 20 games under 80 points.

No news of interest for Adam, he re-signed and is still a vital run with player in the WCE backline, should play all games again.

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) 6/10 - Is unlikely to lift his average again, finished for DT I would predict. With Scott playing in the middle as the tagger and Adam taking the shut down roles in defence he will see no more ball than he saw last season. Not a DT friendly role. I could be wrong but with the young guns coming into the midfield and Scott the best tagger there it is likely to be more of 2011 not a return to 2010. Great player at what he does tough and dependable, not for fantasy.

The Demons hope Clark can add size, marking power and mongrel to their forward line after securing the former Lion for pick No. 12 last Trade Week. Clark’s best season with the Lions was in 2009 when he played mainly as a ruckman who dropped behind the ball, but the Demons have chased him as a marking forward who can create a contest and kick goals. A competitive player who is a good mark, courageous and mobile at 200cm, he is moving into what should be the peak of his career.

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7.5/10 - playing purely as a key fwd Clark will be good, but will he be great. He needs to be he was no doubt well rewarded by the Dee's for coming over. More importantly he will wear Stynes #11. He is recruited to be a key fwd and to put hardness into the Melbourne fwd line. Expect big efforts from him, he tackles he marks and he kicks goals, but how much will he get of it in the Dee's fwd line. There will no doubt be ups and downs and he will be a roller coaster. But the same can be said of most key fwds. Much worse choices available but a little risky for me in his first year at the new club, still represents good value.

Highly decorated centre half back Nathan Bock arrived at the Gold Coast SUNS from the Adelaide Crows as the GC SUNS’ first uncontracted signing.

Bock was the rock of the GC SUNS defence in 2011. He looked rejuvenated in his career and delivered in spades.

Taking the opposition’s best forward every week, Bock’s form was good enough to earn an All Australian nomination. Bock was a deserved runner-up in the GC SUNS best and fairest award.

Prior to joining the SUNS he was selected by the Crows with Pick 25 in the 2001 National Rookie Draft and was elevated to the Crows Senior List in 2003.

He made his senior debut in Round 5, 2004. Initially used as a forward, Bock’s physicality and competitive instincts soon saw him shifted to defence and it was as a defender that he earned his current outstanding reputation.

In 2008 he was named as the Crows Club Champion and Most Valuable Player. Bock was also selected in the 2008 All Australian side. In the same year he represented Australia against Ireland in International Rules.

Player honours: Adelaide best and fairest 2008; Gold Coast 2nd best and fairest 2011; All-Australian 2008; All-Australian nominee 2011; International Rules Series 2008.
Brownlow Medal: 2011 votes 3; career votes 17.
Previous AFL club: Adelaide (2004-10: 113 games, 57 goals).
Draft history: 2002 Rookie Draft selection (Adelaide) No. 25; 2002 rookie elevation (Adelaide); 2010 uncontracted player selection (Gold Coast).

Premium Player Rating (DEF) 8.5/10 - Will be another great season ahead for Bock, should see natural improvement in scoring as the Suns improve. Suspended for first 2 games. Makes a likely candidate for those who had Buggy on the bench. Will play fwd this season it seems tho can't be too sure, will depend how the backline goes without him, makes little difference may have even scored better down back than he will up fwd. Definately a better pick in SC as he is very efficient with ball use and tends to score much better in that format. Still one of the best defnders available for either comp and should definately improve his average on last season. Shone in the NAB CUP games.
