Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - for a cheap mid pricer he is a potentially smart pick, all depends on his role, has played well enough in nab to justify a spot "if there is one" but articles on where he fits in and swingman comments suggest he may be able to play back or forward. New to the club and not many games under his belt but was drafted high and should go well given the opportunities he never got at the saints. JS not ability is the issue, plus the extra cost over porpoise

Hoskin-Elliot would hope he can do well for GWS. He was the pick that GWS traded with GC in which GC picked up O'Meara!!

Page 49. Gun if named and gets regular games same situation as Tyson.

Simply a star and his 2011 was brilliant â€" hence the 30 Brownlow votes, despite being ineligible (he was reprimanded for a rough conduct charge in round five). Last year was special for Mitchell, with the birth of twins on the home front and his best season of football. He played nearly every game and led the Hawks in total and average possessions (701 and 30.5) and clearances (131 and 5.7). He relinquished the captaincy to Luke Hodge, but not the leadership of the midfield and all season he kept getting the footy and, for the most part, using it with precision. Finally, he won a well-deserved All-Australian selection.

Premium Player Rating (MID) 9/10 - Gun Elite Lock, many won't start him given the options and the limit on starting elite mids but should be easily in the best 6 mids this season. Very Very consistant has a decent ceiling and should continue to improve tho not much improvement is left after his stellar 2011. Only 2 scores under 90 is not very common amongst elites.

RICHMOND key defender David Astbury, stricken by a knee injury midway through last season, is starting to emerge from the fog of rehabilitation and hopes to return to the field about round six.

Rookie Player Rating (DEF) 6/10 - Harsh marks but is a player who won't return until around round 6 by recent reports, and when fit is still a developing player who will hold down a key position in defence, with Ellis and Morris in friendlier roles and just as cheap and more likely to play round 1, look at Astbury after he comes back and plays his first two games.

In his first year at Hawthorn, Smith made quite an impression. His body of work on debut included 16 games, 20 goals, two Brownlow votes and a sense of theatreâ€"the bigger the game, the better he played. It was certainly a meteoric rise: 12 months after running around in the Ballarat Football League, he was playing big games for Hawthorn on the MCG. He was the club's first pick at the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, the mature-aged draftee delivered, injectibng much-needed pace to the side as well as a raking left-foot kick, skill, agility and goal sense.

2011 Wrap - debut season played 13 home and away games 3 tons with a high of 138, can rack em up. Also put together 3 90+ and a notable 89. Had a low of 25 sub affected and a few other low scoring games.

Mid Priced Player Rating (MID) 7.5/10 - only giving him a 7.5 due to it only being his second year, don't let that put you off the kid is a star in the making, but still being made. At $408K there is the potential to make some coin off him but less likely for him to become a keeper, tricky pricing but the potential is there the only question is game time/opportunity as I think the scoring potential is a given and the longer he goes on the better he will become, but pass for me this season.

INTERVIEW:  http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-03-17/interview-ian-callinan/3896444

After joining the Crows in the 2010 Rookie Draft at the age of 27, the four-time Central District premiership player was on track for a round one debut when he sustained a freak bicep injury in the final NAB Challenge game. The tough midfield/forward worked tirelessly in his rehabilitation and was rewarded with a long-awaited AFL debut against Geelong in round 14. He starred in his first outing for Adelaide, gathering 21 possessions and kicking a classy goal. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury limited him to only two more appearances for the season.

David Noble: “Ian had a really frustrating year injury-wise. What Ian has brought to the club is an outstanding way in which he prepares, and I think that's rubbed off on the other guys. He doesn't leave anything to chance and it's just frustrating we couldn't get him on the paddock more.”

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7.5/10 - Mature aged BIG showed a bit last season which was twice interupted by injury limiting him to just 3 games. Promoted off the rookie list so WILL play but how ofter? His JS just like Tom Lynch done earlier is the big question. If named worth looking at as he is ready to go and proved his ability last season, AND AGAIN IN nab cup.

So you have something to do Cw can you do Chris Knights :P

Chris Knights
#21   Adelaide Crows
Age: 25yr 5mth    Games: 91     Born: September 25, 1986
Height: 184cm     Weight: 87kg     Position: Midfield, Forward
Last Drafted: Round 4, Pick #56 2004 National Draft
Last Drafted By: Adelaide Crows
Supercoach Price: $374,700
Dreamteam Price: $375,300

After a horror year with injury in 2010, Knights battled form and fitness issues again in 2011. The 25-year-old impressed when shifted onto the ball in the latter part of the season, amassing 33 possessions and four tackles against Geelong in round 21. Although below his damaging best, Knights still averaged 18 disposals and kicked 10 goals in 16 matches. The attacking left-footer will be hoping to return to his career-best form of three years ago under new coach Brenton Sanderson.

David Noble: “Chris is another one who had a frustrating year in the sense that he probably didn't reach the standards he would've liked, and then towards the end of the season he had a few injuries that ruled him out. He wasn't able to finish the year and get the momentum you can sometimes take into the next pre-season. He'll train his backside off over pre-season and prepare himself to have a better year in 2012. We liked what we saw when we moved him up onto the wing and he could actually impact in the midfield if he can get himself in there. He adds a slightly different dimension as a left-footer and attacking player. Sometimes having those guys in your midfield mix can help break up certain types of games for you.”

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - Hard one to rate, is going to be in strong contention for round 1 selection, there are too many Adelaide forwards it is as simple as that. JS should be good has had a good pre-season BUT HE DIDNT PLAY THE FINAL of NAB CUP. Ability isn't the issue either just form and fitness, and the mass of players fighting for a spot in the Crows FWD line.

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) 6/10 - Has huge potential needs to sort himself out on and off the field, the new coach is a step in the right direction of him getting his fresh start, showed in 2010 what he is capable of but now has two rookies in Ellis and Morris to battle for a spot. JS not great but not terrible either, risky pick however you look at it un less you know something about his JS that I don't becasue he can play.

Only played for a short time in NAB CUP 2 full game, did not play in 3 or 4.

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) 6.5/10 - Has to really stand up if given an opportunity he better perform in order to hold his spot, tons of talent very up and down in 2011, not sure of a lot of fringe senior players JS in 2012. Unsure on this bloke very risky pick.

The gifted defender went from a virtual onlooker in the 2010 finals to a star in the 2011 campaign, using his poise and drive in defence to set up numerous attacking moves. No News on Mackie.

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) 8/10 - just about a premium, should lift his average to the high 80's this season and will be a premium keeper, hard to start over the other premiums but won't be surprised to see him in a LOT of sides before the end of the season. His average was down in 2011 but his performance and value to the club was up.

G'day Colli,

Fantastic thread mate, I have been following this as it happens and your knowledge of football is second to none. Not only is it informative for DT but a good read on players you might not have known that much about. Keep it up mate.

I ask a favour if you don't mind? If you get a moment could you please peruse over my team and see if my team seems right?
I'm pretty sure I'm good except for quite a few GWS players in there and any injuries I have been unaware of?
Cheers.
