One I'd love to hear about is Brent Renouf from Port. No Brogan and with Lobbe injured... could be up for some big minutes in R for the Power Puffs

Not that I want to hijack CW's thread but I just thought I will put my opinion out there on this.

Renouf was our (hawks) number 1 and ONLY ruck for a large part of 2010, and still his average was only 64 (his career best). I cant see it lifting much higher than that tbh, for that whole season in 21 games he only had 2 scores above 80. This is why I dont see the #1 role at port helping his scores skyrocket to DT relevancy.

Note: This is not a knock on Renouf, I actually consider him to be a good (and still developing) ruckman. I merely do not think he is a strong DT player.

l agree with all of that scrads, and think that with brogan gone and lobbe injured that it has a greater bearing on reddens value

Rookie Player Rating: (MID) 7/10 - would have rated him higher he will average in the 60's at worst and the 80's in all possibility, the downside, is his JS, consistancy and length of games, if we knew he would play the first ten games complete we would lock him in, well i would. The only gamble on old mcdonald is his games and game time. pretty safe rookie pick.

By definition, we'd normally say don't go for two blokes from the same club in the same position. But if you're ever going to break that rule, this is the time. "Nic Nat", simply, has no physical peer in the AFL. When Cox sneaks forward, as is becoming more common, Naitanui has begun to assert his athletic dominance, effectively giving the Eagles another midfielder with his clearance ability. This also means that most of his possessions are contested - all of which adds up to SuperCoach royalty in the making.

Premium Player Rating (RUCK) 8.5/10 - cheap for a premium and he is a premium, will see more tiem in the ruck this season which means more time in the midfield, such athleticism that he will not be a ruck any longer than it takes to hit out then he will morph into a midfielder. If you don't have cox or burger or jacobs have natanui from the round 11 bye, is a supercoach gun but will lift to be both a dt and sc gun this season as his oportunities and responsibilities increase which they clearly will.

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7/10 - has skills in teh leadership group, has a high ceiling can score good tons and as teh mids improve so will his opportunities, with Petrenko it all comes down to consistancy, if he gets consistant chances are it will be consistant 80-90. a punt but a good one to take given the easy draw and the stronger side with an improving ruck and midfield, also the bigger fwds providing targets raise a player like Petrenkos opportunities.

Mid Priced Player Rating (RUCK) 6.5/10 - low rating taking into consideration comments from community and discussion. Doubts as to whether renouf will ever be an elite ruckman. I am not convinced that is the case it takes most ruckmen at least 5 years to break out / mature and this is going to be his 5th. Not sure he will break out this year or ever, but he is in the window and with injuries at the club (although i think lobbe will be back sooner rather than later) he will get his chance.
At the LOW price he is not a massive risk but he is a risk all the same given the potential output of giles and stephensen at less than half the cost.

Height: 185cm
Weight: 75kg
DOB: 27/08/91
Recruited from: Gippsland Power/Caulfield Grammar/Gembrook
Bio: Bugg plays mainly through the midfield and across halfback and has good composure on both sides of his body. At the 2009 NAB AFL Under‐16 Championships he averaged 18 disposals with an efficiency of 72%, as well as 11 uncontested possessions and five tackle per match. Due to school commitments at Caulfield Grammar he only managed eight matches with Gippsland at TAC Cup level in 2010, averaging 19 disposals and an elite eight handball‐receives. He played three matches for Victoria Country at the 2010 NAB AFL Under‐18 Championships for a return of 15 disposals per match at an efficiency of 73% ‐ 7% above the competition average.

Tomas Bugg   6   4   10   1   0   1   0   1   0   1   0   36

Another Giant to shine was youngster Tomas Bugg ($113,200 def), who picked up 10 disposals and a goal against the Magpies. Also of note is that he was named in Kevin Sheedy's likely Round 1 team.

Rookie Player Rating (DEF) 8/10 - almost assured a start in round 1, sheeds seems to rate him, Dr DT rates him :) think we all rate him. Of the GWS defender rooks he is in my best 3 along with the obvious buntine(expensive tomlinson(dpp). Darley and mohr others to consider but bugg over those two for me.
