Awesome write-up thanks CW. Could do us a Gaffy? Then I'll leave you alone. Thanks Legend!!

EDIT: Just nticed that there was a Masten write-up on page 15. Sorry mate :(

I can't believe you have done that to me LE..... Luckily I rated him 6.5 then 7 phew, would have looked stupid if they were totally different ratings, but I think I got it right both times, his JS and his potential both look to have increased post Lecras injury and post his nab cup performances. Think the update was a worthwhile excercise and obviously i have gotten better as I have gone along at digging up the information and I think the second write up sheds a lot more light on the current Masten situation.

Andrew Gaff
#3   West Coast Eagles
Age: 19yr 8mth    Games: 17     Born: June 16, 1992
Height: 182cm     Weight: 78kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #4 2010 National Draft
Last Drafted By: West Coast Eagles
Supercoach Price: $331,100
Dreamteam Price: $322,900

Playing as a regular substitute in his first six games before a spell in the WAFL, the midfielder made a big impact in his debut season. That astute management from West Coast paid off later in the year, with the tough left-footer playing the last 11 games and averaging more than 22 possessions in that period to become a key ball carrier through the midfield. Has exceptional running power.

Player honours: NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.

Draft history: 2010 NAB AFL Draft 1st round selection (West Coast) No. 4 overall.

Mid Priced Player Rating (MID) 8/10 - JS JS JS - kid is brilliant no shower, thats not the concern what is the concern is the dreaded term "super sub". If he is past teh vest he is a lock if he is not he will be a disasterous pick and a trade. Same old story with him as Maten as Stevens who will get games in teh WCE midfield, do they replace Lecras with a mid or a fwd? Not much to rate him on other than JS he is a gun like most high draft picks.

* What might make a BIG difference. The new free agent rules at the end of 2012 will directly effect Gaff, his contract runs out at the end of this season, WCE are desperate to re-sign him and a lot of other clubs will be desperate to get him, he is from the east. He will play his but off for a pay rise and WCE might play him every game to make him happy. ??

Ziplock

90+ this year. The question is, is a 90 average good enough as a midfield mid pricer who's priced at 60?

if so, look strongly at gaff, ebert and palmer.

That IS interesting, but would they keep him as the "super sub" this year and start promising to give him full game time in 2013 or would they just start this year?

Ok There are another 100 million articles on this guy but the general idea is the following,
1. He will be an onballer inside midfielder predominately in 2012.
2. He will also be trained and used as a sheppharding player providing protection to Ablett, and likely others like Caddy and Swallow.
3. He has been added to the leadership group. The club is DEAD SET on making him successful. and keeping him playing.

Rookie Player Rating (DEF) 7/10 - ok it's a high rating for the majority of you but I am warming up to his capabilities, a few things, remember the tough jobs in defence are the perfect training for midfielders to be, conca and many other rookies were given that defence run with lock down role to teach them defence. It makes sense to turn hunts 20122 experience into a bodyguard/inside midfielder role. Look I think he can turn out an average of 60 in DT which would make him a worthwhile rookie pick, he isn't a rooky but at 140K he is priced as one. An elite athlete clueles about AFL last season, knows a bit more this season, the midfield will both suit him more and simply MUST get him more DT scores. Don't write him off, but not for me, other solid options. I feel that might be regretted tho.

The other notable point for DT players is his SC average of 60 last season.... What might that be this season.

Dalrymple says: "He played a little bit at Bendigo in the last year and a half, and he came on the scene late on a recommendation of Shannon Grant, who had a bit of involvement with him there. We got him down and interviewed him, and he was impressive. He's a really strong individual who is really determined and we felt that at his size, he's a powerful unit. We see him playing as a power forward and he fits that need for us."

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6/10 - the bulldogs need to promote him off the rookie list first, they should as they need key forward more than they need to sort out thier rucks. More than anything. No guarantee when they will or if they will which is why i don't rate jack too highly, that and the fact he will be a key fwd. Look elsewhere.

One I'd love to hear about is Brent Renouf from Port. No Brogan and with Lobbe injured... could be up for some big minutes in R for the Power Puffs
