Hey mate, just wondering if you can do a bit of research of some Richmond players, Trent Cotchin mainly, and then 2 of the ruckman in I.Maric and T.Derrickx.
Cheers mate.

   Trent Cotchin
#9   Richmond Tigers
Age: 21yr 10mth    Games: 64     Born: April 7, 1990

Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #2 2007 National Draft

2011 DT Wrap: Break out season - 9 tons high of 129, 3 x 90+ , 4 x 80+ and only 2 or 2 lowish scores, it was relitively consistant, however he still needs to totally eliminate those low scores (there is no excuse for a premium mid to put out 60's and 70's), and add a few more tons to elevate to elite status. With more improvement this season and consistancy he will be elite.

Premium Player Rating (MID) 8.5/10 - expect better again from Cotchin this season, should move to the bottom of the elite category. Had hip surgery but whilst it effected his early pre season he looks to be back to full training and to take part in nab cup, if he is 100% be a great unique pick as he will continue to get better. If the team can get better with him he should see an end to low scores and a higher average for 2012.

Awesome stuff mate, and how about Ivan Maric, as he will probably be the no.1 ruckman at Richmond he could break out this year and become a great unique pick for 2012.

DISCUSSION:   http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,44804.0.html

Ivan Maric (Richmond, from Adelaide)
DT position: Ruck
Price: $262,700
Maric struggled for senior opportunities at the Crows last year in the shadow of Sam Jacobs, who crossed from Carlton at the end of 2010. Now at Richmond, he's set to lead the Tigers' big man division of Angus Graham, Andrew Browne and the untried Tom Derickx. He's an ideal consideration for your No. 2 ruck spot given he will be play and has promised an increased level of aggression in 2012.

Has Richmond fixed its ruck problem?

The response hasn't been very subtle to the failure of Angus Graham and Andrew Browne at centre bounces and around the ground last year. Adelaide big man Ivan Maric has been drafted in, along with Jack Riewoldt cheerfully telling the media that Graham will need to pull his finger out to meet the challenge. It goes without saying that having a ruckman who could give Richmond's elite midfielders first use of the ball would be a major improvement in 2012. Maric is promising aggression. Fans would also like more marks around the ground from their towering Tigers.

Mid Priced Player Rating (RUCK) 6.5/10 - relitively unknow results this season, simply due to limited opportunities at the crows we don't really have an accurate bench mark for maric to work off, one thing is for sure he is favoured to take the  #1 ruck spot at Richmond and to change that Graham will have to really impress, not likely since he hasn't to date. Maric will play every game he is fit and in form for, has taloked up his aggression ahead of the season and has the demeanour of a last chance player, expect the best from him this season, thats the only question, what is Marics best? we are soon to find out.

Premium PLayer Rating (RUCK) 9/10 - people seem to have gone off him as he has now to compete with HMac, this isn't the case it is VERY clearly a case of HMac will pinch hit and play up forward, only in the ruck when Petrie would have been last season no more, Petrie should play solely as a FWD. I expect the same drop off from Goldstein this year as we got from Cox last year when he had  to share with Natinui, to spell it out NO DROP OFF AT ALL. @nd highest scoring ruckmen possibly the highest if his forms continues to trend up.

66. LINCOLN MCCARTHY
Age: 18
Height: 177cm
Weight: 79kg
From: Glenelg/Bordertown
Position: Forward
Explosive small forward who is dynamic around goal and overhead for his size. Former basketballer and state cricketer.

Pick 66: Lincoln McCarthy, Glenelg/Bordertown
Wells says: "We think he'll be able to play in the midfield, so we don't think he's just a speedy small forward. He's also got a long way to go with his development, but we're happy to have him on board. We hope he comes to our club and learns from the guys how to be an AFL player. He's got a good attitude towards the defensive part of the game in the forward line."

Rookie Player Rating 5/10 - JS is not great, brought through the system into the cats to develop and learn the game, he has however impressed the coach already, opportunity in the cats side is the concern, talented kid.

The guys at DT talk have interviewed A. Swallow, and he reckons there will be sharing of the load between Goldy and HMac, I dunno if that's enough of a reason not to go with him, but I'm not

Colliwobblers

there is a LOT of talking up the "sharing" of the ruck duties at the club, i don't know why NM are going to so much effort (there are like a dozen articles on it. But HMac looked pretty good, if rusty in the nab cup games tonight and he will help out (remembering goldy was rested for the second game).

All I can say is if you had goldy and you were coach would you want ANYONE rucking any more than you needed them to instead of Goldy he smashed it last season, if it isn't broken DONT FIX IT.

Hey CW, looking at Jake Kings DT point from last night it looks like he done fairly well. Would you mind doing a bit of a write up on him please mate?

2011 wrap - nothing spectacular, very solid, very reliable, very durable, provides support up forward, played his role, not for DT.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/jake-kings-selection-for-international-rules-a-reward-for-years-of-hard-work/story-e6frf9jf-1226173904514

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) - 7/10 - ok he looked great in the nab cup, keep in mind he is suspended in round 1. This said it is what makes King so good, his hard at it attitude and great work ethic that also get him into trouble with free kicks against, destroying his DT output. He is a hard and honest and good footballer but he is truely a defensive forward and while he may take a grab or two, it will be rare and while he can kick a goal there won't be lots, what he must do and will do is apply forward pressure, as good as he looked there are much better options for DT.
