I didnt realise he had such a slow start to the season with 6 sub 70 scores, but he did bring it home very nicely.
i think ive now settled on lewis, just think he will be in a top 4 side this yr, will never cop a tag and have a few others im wanting to fit in coming back from injuries and dont want someone who could break down at anytime even though reports r good.

Anthony Miles is an inside midfielder from Howlong near Albury and is hailed as a natural leader having captained NSW/ACT at both the NAB Under‐16 and Under‐18 Championships.

In 2009 Miles played 13 matches as a bottom aged player for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup, and in 2010 he played 11 matches to average an elite 27 disposals and 12 contested possessions per match.

In both seasons he was runner‐up in the Bushrangers best and fairest and in 2010 was selected in the TAC Cup Team of the Year.

At the 2009 NAB Under‐18 Championships he averaged 13 disposals and five-contested possessions while in 2010 his averages of 30 disposals and 13 contested possessions were both ranked number one.

These efforts saw him selected in the 2010 NAB AFL U18 All‐Australian team.

OK This write up I am going to keep nice and short. Watch Miles during the NAB Cup, something will be seriously wrong if he isnt there and doesnt impress you, should be a lock in teh starting GWS midfield this season as he was last season, Not a better rookie pick available from thier midfield, clifton and shiel are below him in my humble oppinion.

Just a gun midfielder plain and simple nothing else to say, will need to step up in AFL footy but at every level he has played at to date he has been in the top few in B&F, in DT scores, in BOG.

Rookie Player Rating (MID) 9/10. amongst the best rooks I've looked at so far. The stats from last year along with the comments from Freako in his prospectus along with other forums and comments from the club and fans all add up to this kid being a must have, although that list of must haves is growing every day is it not.

Seems to be training his guts out and has some real intent for 2012. Just not sure if there's a spot for him in that Carlton backline. What would need to happen for him to get regular games do you think (injury wise)?

Rookie Player Rating (DEF) 6/10 - a generous ranking ans a harsh one, the guy has proven ability tho certainly not elite ability, however he is a defender after all and how many of them are elite DT scorers. Carlton showed faith in his injury prone self by sleecting him over ohailpin to stay with the club, commented on him as a neccessairy player adding more confidence to us DT'ers that he will get his shot if fit. I think he will get games if he is fit and I hear he is having a good pre-season, however looking at his history he is HORRIBLY injury prone and a massive risk. Priced just over the rookie price he is both a bargain and a waste of that extra cash, you will need to watch nab cup and see what you see and go with your gut at his price he seriously is worth watching but he is also a massive risk.

UPDATE:

Will play round 1, but will really have to play well to cement his spot in the side, Laidler will be back in the 2nd or 3rd round and will be straight in not sure on JS but will get his chance. Better pick for SC.

Jason Phelan says: Adams is a classy midfielder who also has a hard edge to his game that has seen him likened to Geelong's Jimmy Bartel. He averaged 28 possessions per match with the Falcons this year with 10 of those contested. He is a strong tackler who is tough to shake loose once he latches on. He disposes of the ball well by hand in traffic and is an elite kick off his right boot. Adams has strong leadership credentials. Rookie Player Rating: MID/FWD 8.5/10 - looks a gun to me a hard body and a skilled player seems a must in the youthful GWS midfield, taken at pick 14 he would have to play most games wouldn't he? this is the only risk, we just keep on seeing great midfielders (potentially" from GWS so who and when are questions we need answers for. But watch this guy he going to be a gun I think and already touted as a future leader.

Yeah last article, it was a lot of months ago and at the falcons not GWS, and i very much doubt he would have been at fault given teh wraps he has recieved on his "leadership qualities" but who knows.

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 7/10- I could probably have gone a bit higher based on his potential vs his extreme low price. There are two articles I have attached which put me in two minds, 1. the coach rates him he is in great shape, could play more in the middle and even if he doesnt looks good for a 60+ average which = super cash cow. 2. is the repeated statement "if we can get games into his this season", what is that, just trying to make us wonder? the only question on props is when will he play where will he play and for how long will he play, he seems very fit i would have had him in the best 22 so why the question of if we can get some games into hiim, that is the only thing making me worry about him, never set the world on fire in DT averaging a high of almost 80 is 2008, but pretty consistant since then apart from a slight drop off in 2010 and last year being a write off, i reckon with the new coach and an improving midfield a potential stint in the middle and in the best 22 porps would be a GREAT pick and at his price an 8.5/10, but the wuestion of JS remains unanswered so a 7 for now.

Rookie Player Rating (FWD) 6/10 - a KPP might find a home at Full Forward with the retirement of Hall, seems ready for AFL footy, broke out in the finals of the VFL last season. Elevated to the Bulldogs senior list as a result, no question the dogs need him on the ground in the FWD line, no telling what they will do tho, a low mark due to the uncertainty and the KPP status, but if he gets a run he looks like a good fit in a tall forward lacking side and can find the goals.

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 6.5/10 - I think Grant will step it up this year, there will be opportunities to do without Hall and there will likely be more support from the new coach, having been dropped i think 3 times last year his DT scoring and his general form and confidence were far from where they need to be. No question of him getting the games, the only question will be can he step it up. At his low price there are far worse options out there and he could be a very successful unique pick
