Awesome work there ColliWobblers! - When you find time how about Jonathan Giles & Orren Stephenson.

Everbodies favourite bench ruck duo, and one or the other will start on the ground imo in more than a few teams looking to skimp on the rucks to boost a line elsewhere in thier team. I'll start with Giles.

Jonathan Giles (GWS) $117800 RUCK
Last played for GWS Giants in 2011
Born: January 8, 1988
Playing Height: 199cm     Playing Weight: 101kg     Position: Ruck
Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #3 2010 Rookie Draft
Last Drafted By: GWS Giants

DISCUSSION:  http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,45521.0.html

Jonathan Giles is a big ruckman who is known for taking strong marks. Jonathan spent four years on Port Adelaide’s senior list from 2006 until 2009 but missed selection in all four years.

In 2010, Jonathan’s switch from Central District to Sturt Football Club payed off with the big man being named in the ruck in the Adelaide Advertiser’s SANFL Team of the Year for 2010.

Giles was delisted by the Power after being picked up at pick #70 in 2005.

Thats all I can find on this guy for you, hower he will be on the ground round 1 of the afl and will share rucking duties with brogan in 2012. Not a yound recruit by any means i think he will have a solid season and if developed properly may elevate to AFL level and become a good ruck.

Rook PLayer Rating (RUCK) 6/10 yet to prove himslef at afl level, not a smith by any means more like an old fassioned ruck in the making, think he will take a few years to develop and may never be premium but he is ready to go which is why GWS have him and he will be a good cash cow in 2012 - i would not start him on the ground or I think you will lose at least 20 maybe as much as 40 points to the premium rucks.

Orren Stephenson (GEE) RUCK $98700
Number    23
Height    200cm
Weight    104kg
DOB    15-07-1982
Pick 78: Orren Stephenson, North Ballarat/Redan

DISCUSSION:  http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,45031.0.html

Wells says: "He was one player that we came in with a plan to select with that pick. The thinking is that we've got three very good young ruckman and we thought we needed another ruckmen to complement them. We could've drafted another young one and watched him develop, but we think Orren has earned his chance as a mature player. It was a big decision, considering he's 29, but he's healthy, hasn't had any major injuries, and has played a lot of VFL games against other listed AFL players. Orren knows that we wouldn't have drafted him if Brad Ottens was still playing, but we thought that we needed an experienced ruckman to come in and complement what our young players will be able to deliver next year."

29-year old ruckman Orren Stephenson says it is a surprise to have been picked by Geelong with their last selection in the 2011 national draft.
"Last year was pretty quiet and I thought oh well my times been, I've done everything I can, I'm enjoying my footy at North Ballarat and we'll just press on from there,'' Stephenson said.
"I had a conversation with Geelong last week, but obviously no guarantees. It was a massive surprise, kinda left field a bit.''

Draftee watch
Much of the focus has been on mature-age recruit Orren Stephenson. The 29-year-old ruckman from Ballarat, whose oldest child starts secondary school next year, had to quit his job at Telstra in order to begin training with the Cats. Since doing that he's been impressing his new teammates with his fitness and skill.

Ok so LOCK, For me he is a lock barring any mishaps, he is ready to play yeasterday and seems to me a lot more driven and rated than Giles but thats just my take on the pair.

Rookie Player Rating (RUK) 7/10 will be a good cash cow as he will play games lots of them and I think he will also score well given the time in the middle needed to do so. If I was to pick a rookie ruckman to start this would be the one. But then Giles may go nuts and prove me wrong and there are a couple of other promising rookie ruckmen out there that will likely get a run this season, which is good because we need to downgrade these guys (giles/stephenson) to someone that can hopefully provide cover if heavon forbid we need it.

Raiden

Great write up, yeah i agree Stephenson is a 100% Lock for the bench at this point in time, along with either Giles or Sam Rowe.

Trav Cloke .
A MAGPIE, shouldn't have to research here, and if I did it would take pages for this bloke.

Travis Cloke
#32   Collingwood Magpies
Age: 24yr 10mth    Games: 149     Born: March 5, 1987
Height: 196cm     Weight: 108kg     Position: Forward
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #39 2004 National Draft

So instead of tellin everyone "who" Travis Cloke is I will try to post some relevant information and articles on his past season and his current form and expectations you should have for 2012 season.

Cloke came on very strong through the mid to late season. He finished the year in most peoples minds as the best key forward in the business. As a KPP he suffers in certain tight games where he simply does not get the opportunity to put DT points on the board. But he is a a GUN forward and with the pies midfield and back line he will not get too many bad scores and will average highly but he will have those few bad rounds.

Not like Buddy or DRoo he doesnt screem halfway up the ground for possession on the wing or in the centres he is a FF type but don't let that put you off, he goes alright and he is in the BEST team in the comp (yeah the cats may have the wood on us but we will again win more games throughout the season).

2011
An unbelievable season from the 24-year-old. Took the competition by the scruff of the neck, and it showed when the end of season rewards were handed out. Named at centre half forward in the All-Australian team for the first time in his career. Kicked a career-high 69 goals to run second in the Coleman Medal. To cap it off, he ran third in the Copeland Trophy. Cloke was able to elevate himself into the pantheon of the competition’s elite, goaling in 23 of 25 games.

Kicked five or more goals in four matches (including bags of six in consecutive weeks), and his seven finals goals elevated him to 12th on the list of the most goals kicked by a Collingwood player in finals. Was a colossus in the preliminary final, hauling in some breathtaking pack marks and kicking truly when it came to the crunch (having ridded himself of the inaccurate tag during the season). Began the Grand Final like a house on fire with three goals in the first half, before the supply dried up.

Premium PLayer Rating 9/10 (FWD)- ok so he loses one point for being a KPP, nothing you can do about it, some games he will let you down BIGTIME!, in a game against the likes of Sydney who play a lockdown slow slugfest where the game will be low scoring, I wouldnt start cloke, probably wouldnt start buddy either IMO if thier were options in a game like that a KPP fowrard could make you as little as 40 points no matter how good.

But in every other sense Cloke is in the best 5 FWDs out there, only buddy, stevie, fyfe and the like are above him and most only due to thier mobility and time up the ground. Pick him or upgrade to him he will average 100+ easily this year, his only worry is dawes stealing possessions off him, but when dawes was flying in the first 6 or so games last season Cloke was still putting out scores averaging well over 90.

I'm not biased I had 9.5/10 but i controlled my magpie bias :) and pulled it back.

I'm loving how you included the highlights that you are also putting in who they played against as this does reflect how well players go under pressure against the better teams.

Got one for you Tory Dickson

IRONIC - I would love to have this guy in my team, Why? My daughters name is Tori, my surname isn't dickson but it's close :)

Tory Dickson (WB) (FWD) $98700

A mature-age recruit, Tory Dickson was selected by the Western Bulldogs with pick 57 in the 2011 AFL National Draft. Dickson comes to the Whitten Oval from the Bendigo Bombers, where he kicked 48 goals in 19 games for the VFL side in season 2011. The 24 year-old is a hard bodied hit-up forward that can also play through the midfield. Standing 184cm, Dickson provides a strong presence around stoppages and has a hunger for winning the contested football. Dickson proved his goal-kicking ability, slotting 112 majors for reputed suburban club Noble Park in 2010. In addition to his stint at Bendigo, Dickson has previously played at the VFL level for Frankston. He won the club's best and fairest award in 2009.

DRAFT:
57. TORY DICKSON
Age: 24
Height: 180cm
Weight: 90kg
From: Bendigo Bombers
Position: Forward
Dickson, 24, is a surprise choice but a favourite of now-Dogs assistant Shannon Grant. Kicked 100 goals in Noble Park’s 2010 premiership and has won a best-and-fairest at Frankston. Can play as a leading forward and rotate through midfield.

Rookie Player Rating 7/10 (FWD) should rate higher but i am not sure he will start the season early on. He is a KPP forward that has the tank adn abilities to do time in the midfield ALA buddy, I think he will be a great find for the doggies and has the support and the wraps from the club to get his shot, mature age recruit we don't have to wait too long for him to appear in AFL footy but we do need a spot in that team to open up for him that doesnt involve the dreadest vest....

OK tough one to rate, if he comes up fit and there is no reason to think he won't but I havent seen a lot of news (any) on how he is going though pre season will have to see what he's like in nab cup, awesome price he is at and awesome potential given his great 2009 season and looking at his first 3 games last season this guy has potential. Never came back later in the season DT score wise, not sure if that was due to fitness after the injury? being subbed, or lack of form, but he should have trained this preseason and he should be good to go this season.

Mid Priced PLayer Rating7.5/10 (DEF) based on potential ability to average 80+ and ridiculously low starting price. A risk but a good one if your not keen on lake or conca or the like.

Awesome thanks champ.
I'll be taking the punt I think. 50k less than Grimes so ill be on the Suban train as well as the Conca one :)

Yep fair bit more unique than your Waters/Grimes/Lake options. I dunno in saying I'll go for him I suspect I'll person out :P

Massive fan of Travis.

Not sure if he can back his incredible 2011 up again though. I'm still backing him for a great season, but have never seen a marking display like C3 did last year, and think he may be a smidge overpriced.
