Introduction
West Australian Elliot Yeo proved a standout at the 2011 AFL Draft Combine, particularly in the agility, standing vertical jump and 20m sprint tests. His speed is supplemented with good skills on both sides of his body.

Background
• Originally from Attadale JFC, Yeo quickly became a key member of the East Fremantle Colts' side in 2011, averaging more than 22 disposals per game and finishing third in the club's Best & Fairest award.

• He was selected to represent Western Australia at the NAB AFL U18 Championships and averaging 14 disposals as a medium defender throughout the Carnival.

• He was a standout at the NAB AFL Draft Combine, being the quickest in the agility run (7.80 seconds), having the best standing vertical jump with a score of 78cm and running 2.91 seconds for the 20m sprint, showcasing his athletic ability.

• Yeo entered the Draft highly rated by the Lions, and the Club took little time in snapping him up when he was still available at Pick No.30 overall.

What Lions National Talent Manager Rob Kerr says...

"He's got plenty of development in front of him. With a couple of years in the system he could develop into a good wing/half-forward/half-back - a bit (Nathan) Fyfe-like we think."

"Graham Hadley identified him early and brought him to our attention. He looks young and is still developing."

East Fremantle Football Manager Damien Gaspar says...

"This year was his first full year of Colts footy. Played across half back and wing and proved to very proficient with his skills."

"He's more of an outside player who finishes well."

What AFL National Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan says...

"Elliot Yeo was a standout at the NAB AFL Draft Combine, being the quickest in the agility run (7.8 seconds), having the best standing vertical jump with a score of 78cm and running 2.91 seconds for the 20m sprint, showcasing his athletic ability."

"He represented Western Australia at the NAB U18 Championships, averaging 14 disposals as a medium defender."

"He is a speedy defender who shows good run and carry. He also uses the ball well on both his right and left side."

3/4 time debut game stats

Player Name   K   H   D   M   HO   T   FF   FA   G   B   DT
11   Elliot Yeo   6   9   15   3   0   1   1   0   0   1   51

Rookie Player Rating: (MID) 7.5/10 - job security an issue, bure here he is debuting. Played ok in the first half, an outside midfielder has great athleticism and knows how to find the footy (uncontested) Racked up plenty of possessions in the WAFL but mainly uncontested. Not a big tackler or hard ball getter. More a Rockliff than a Redden and I think the Lions need more Reddens myself (Zorko - 6 tackles at 3/4 time).

Michael Johnson (Freemantle) please.

Seems to play every game and he's scoring better this season.  I'm looking for my last defender upgrade and was going to go Shaw or maybe even Carrazzo on his return but think I like the consistency of MJ more.
