Great work so far Colli. Either he has been overlooked by all so far or my eyesight is going bad on the front page there but Rory Sloane when you have the chance. I get its a Monday though :P

*Wobblers comment - Playing inside midfield as first reciever of the pill, 12 kicks to ZERO handballs well thats just outstanding, it shows two things, 1. He is fantasy gold using his foot not his hands. 2. He has time and space to do so, he is on fire.

Mid Priced Player Rating (MID) 8.5/10 - ask again in a couple of weeks it might be 9/10 (for a mid pricer). Obviousl set for a breakout year both on huge preseason, new coach and new attitude at teh club, added to the leadership group, nab cup performance, the whispers of "watch Sloane" of 2 months ago from the few optimistic Crows supporters have turned into roars from teh greater community "WATCH SLOANE". If you are considering a break out candidate in the midfield you cannot go past this bloke.

Could you also do Dayne Beams plz colli if you have the time as I think he may be worth the cash

Injuries prevented the courageous defender/midfielder from consolidating his spot in 2011 after cementing himself in Port’s back six in 2010 and winning the club’s most improved player award. He played six games then missed the final 14 with a shoulder injury. After also having post-season hip surgery in 2010, he will be hoping his injury woes are behind him.

Ok first I can find nothing of significance on Paul, lets just say he had a horror run with injuries and last year was a write off again due to that. Suffice to say he went well in the NAB CUP and is fit and ready to go for 2012, not 100% on his JS but fit and healthy should fit into ports best back 6.

Mid Priced Player Rating 6.5/10 (DEF) - an unknown quantity to me as far as JS goes. Can play the game and if keeps fit is at that point in his career where a break out season is most likely to happen, being in ports defence witth the tough draw will get plenty of opportunity to do so if playing in the backline.

Amazing profiles colli. Could you please do 2 of the NAB cups first round bolters, Magner the Magnet and Rory Sloane if they haven't already been done :)

James Magner

Prendergast says: "He is just a gun stoppage player at VFL level with a strong hard body who won Sandringham's best and fairest in 2011. He has been training at St Kilda and we've had our eye on him as well. In terms of our list management and getting some balance, he was at a good age in terms of just being physically prepared to play AFL football. He's a hard competitor."

Rookie Player Rating (MID) 8.5/10 - highest rating i think a rookie lister player can get maybe too high. Still if Melbourne has half a clue he will be the first rookie promoted and FAST. Mature aged at 24 he is more than AFL ready he is AFL ready to dominate. Not just talking him up off the back of his NAB Cup performances which were strong, He won Sandringhams B&F last season and had been training with the Saints before Melbourne drafted him. As soon as he is elevated and named to play GET ON!

Sorry ele i didn't notice. but he is a great choice and I've dropped scotty thompson for him as I see him averaging more with the opposition tagger heading towards thommo, leaving sloane to do what he does best, roam and pick up easy kicks.

Also colli could you do a write up on my boy Tom Ledger? Named on afl website as best for saints in both pre season games, and averaged 30 last year although I don't recall him ever playing more than a quarter as the sub. Very good potential, and I'm tossing up between him and wingard for a premium-rookie mid spot.

Tom Ledger
#15   St Kilda Saints
Age: 19yr 11mth    Games: 2     Born: March 17, 1992
Height: 178cm     Weight: 76kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #59 2010 National Draft
Last Drafted By: St Kilda Saints
Supercoach Price: $113,200
Dreamteam Price: $163,200

Saint Tom Ledger ($113,200 mid) is another 2010 draftee who appears ready to take a big step forward in 2012. He had a taste of senior action last year, playing two games (coming on late as the sub in both) but on Friday night's evidence (17 touches in two games) suggest he'll be part of Scott Watters' midfield rotation on a regular basis.

Young Saint Tom Ledger could build on his game tally from last year, scoring a 33 and a 32. He is probably a step behind Jack Steven who managed 40 against the Swans before sitting out the Geelong game.

3   Tom Ledger   6   2   8   6   0   0   0   2   0   0   0   34

Rookie Player Rating (MID) 7/10 - I'm going to rate him as a rookie due to his price. He is set to see time in the Saints midfield rotation and with fitness and staying injury free he could play a lot more games this season. JS is a bit of a risk but he shone in the NAB CUP and is well and truelly capable of returning a great output for your modest investment in a 2nd year player. Not much news on him other than to say he shone in the NAB CUP and will be a likely starter in the Saints midfield. Very fast and uses the ball well.

Jake Carlisle please really caught my eye in the two nab cup matches

Jake Carlisle

Carlisle was forced to wait until round 18 for his first senior opportunity of 2011 after playing the last three games of his debut season in 2010. He finished playing the last seven games of the year, including the elimination final loss to Carlton, mainly as a key defender after being groomed in the role in the VFL. Looms as one of the club’s most exciting prospects, with his aerial strength and football smarts central to his game.

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) played the last 7 games the bombers played last season and impressed, leading all comers in teh comp in intercept possessions over that period, will take time to develop i dont think this will be his year, maybe next, also needs to cement that spot, played well obviously in the NAB CUP so that part of the problem should be solved, but as for whether he is ready for bigger things or not in fantasy land... i can't say

few mid price backs I haven't heard much mention of that I'm looking at - Brodie Smith (Adelaide) Jasper Pittard (Port) and Maverick Weller (GC)? Could be worth a bit of detective work. Love the thread, great work.

   Brodie Smith
#33   Adelaide Crows
Age: 20yr 1mth    Games: 14     Born: January 14, 1992
Height: 189cm     Weight: 84kg     Position: Defender
Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #14 2010 National Draft

Dreamteam Price: $261,800

DISCUSSION:  http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,46009.0.html

Smith impressed in his debut season, playing 14 games and showing maturity well beyond his years. The dashing 19-year-old averaged 13 disposals, picking up a career-high 23 touches against Port Adelaide in round four. The lean-bodied onballer added 3kg of muscle mass over the pre-season and should become a mainstay either in the midfield or at half-back in 2012.

David Noble: “I think Brodie had an exceptional year with the way he came in and approached the games. In the first eight weeks, in games where we weren't going all that well Brodie's form was very solid. He's another player, who has some great flexibility for us. He has good speed and will take a risk and run and carry the ball. We're really excited about what he's got to offer.”

Mid Priced Player Rating (DEF) 6.5/10 - think smith needs another season to lift "much" from his current scoring, given he had 3 very low scores last season he could have and should have averaged higher so there is value in him, however not touted as a break out prospect this season and not likely to make you as much as a rook or turn keeper. 65-70 i predict.

few mid price backs I haven't heard much mention of that I'm looking at - Brodie Smith (Adelaide) Jasper Pittard (Port) and Maverick Weller (GC)? Could be worth a bit of detective work. Love the thread, great work.

Jasper Pittard
#29   Port Adelaide Power
Age: 20yr 10mth    Games: 13     Born: April 1, 1991
Height: 186cm     Weight: 80kg     Position: Defender
Last Drafted: Round 1, Pick #16 2009 National Draft
Last Drafted By: Port Adelaide Power
Supercoach Price: $334,000
Dreamteam Price: $275,900

The first round 2009 draft pick showed his undoubted talent by finishing equal seventh in the best and fairest despite being restricted to 13 games, missing nine weeks with a hamstring injury. A running half-back, he will get stronger with another pre-season behind him.

Jasper Pittard
Jasper played quite a few games down back last year and he’ll spend time rotating between defence and the midfield this year. He’s worked a lot on his defensive skills. He’s got great leg speed and a thumping kick and we need to make sure we use that to benefit the team. He’s had a consistent pre-season completing most sessions.

I think he’ll reap the benefits of his hard running over this pre-season, being his third, as the season progresses. He’s taken some big steps in terms of his development. He’s still got a little bit of youthful inconsistency in his game, but he’s spending a lot of time with all the coaches and the fitness staff to help improve his game.

2011: high of 87, 2 scores under 10, injured in round 14.

Mid Priced Player Rating: (DEF) 7.5/10 - wouldnt lock him in just yet, he is set to return from injury and play in the next NAB CUP game, other than health issues if you are looking for a mid priced defender that may break out, but WILL significantly lift thier average and make you money this is a good pick. Was the most used playmaker out of defence for port last season before injury, has a long kick and finds space with ease. Touted to play between defence and midfield this season, seriously consider!

Maverick Weller
#4   Gold Coast Suns

Height: 182cm     Weight: 79kg     Position: Defender
Supercoach Price: $278,300
Dreamteam Price: $247,300

Maverick Weller hails from Burnie in Tasmania’s industrial north.

He’s a supremely fit, tough, fiercely competitive and hard working midfielder.

An accurate right foot kick and an aggressive and uncompromising tackler who sports a tattoo of his ‘Top Gun’ namesake he’s equally adept playing inside or outside midfield roles.

Weller was only 15 years old when he made his senior football debut for TAFL side Burnie Dockers.

An AIS/AFL squad member, he arrived at the GC SUNS after several standout performances as a 16-year old with Tasmania at the National Championships in 2009.

Draft history: 2010 17-year-old access selection (Gold Coast).

C dub, a couple of cats players caught my eye over the weekend. Keen to hear your thoughts on simon hogan and steven motlop. Job security being my major concern with both. Cheers.

Gday, its scary but I've been seriously considering Nahas... I see real upside - will play every game, maybe Maric will take small forward duties and he can move up the the wing.  What do you think of him?

youtube.com/watch?v=nJ2zR44I-Ao    - when Richmond play like that Nahas is in the thick of it. watch that goal starting at 1:18

Outlook
Played four games midway through the 2011 season and looks a real talent. The clever forward has battled persistent shoulder injuries in his time with the Cats, but this could be his breakout year. Has the football pedigree and just needs a bit of luck on his side.

Steven Motlop: Showed what all the excitement has been about. Yet another small forward/winger in the mould of Allen Christensen who exerts enormous tackling pressure around the ball.

NAB CUP GAMES:

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD) 6.5/10 - great talent, very exciting impact player who has a big future, is it this year in the Cats side? unlikely. Not sure how much game time or how many senior games he will play, the Cats FWD line is ridiculously competitive. I think there are much more secure picks at his price and although not rookie listed his JS is in doubt, and there are several senior players ahead of him.

Thanks Colliwobblers for the detective work on Smith, Pittard and Weller - think you nailed it for what it's worth, well played by you.
