Article from first training session for new year and this is an extract

"The noticeable fitness of the team’s leadership group, including Jonathan Brown and Daniel Merrett (both of whom missed large periods of 2011 due to long-term injuries), was hard to miss as the Lions leaders led the charge at training. "

Only injuries we have at the moment are Staker Full season and Docherty and Drummond both with Hip Injuries.

Get on Brown at the price but a smokey may be Merrett who was in All Australian Form last year prior to his injury.

Intresting with Merrett never doubted his ability as a class back but he isnt rely fantasy relevant tho he could change that but it does not seem likely.I think the only reason someone wouldnt get on Brown would be his age but he is a definte lock for me :)

Hawka Disagree about fantasy relevant.  Played 10 games last year with a SC average of 86.1 (including 2 100+ scores0 so that is my reason for suggesting a smokey if he starts with form displayed last year.

How's Pearce Hanley tracking??  ;)

Ringo

Will definitely be in Brisbane's 1st round Team.  Injury free, training well and am hopefull of maintaining his 2011 form
May be a mid priced smokey for you.
Here is the evaluation of his 2011 season:
• Following the off-season departure of Justin Sherman, Hanley inherited the Lions' famous Number 11 guernsey in the hope that a change in jumper could bring a change in luck for the Irishman.
• His fortunes definitely improved in 2011, as he put behind him those frustrating soft tissue injuries to find a permanent position in the Lions' back six and establish himself as one of competition's most promising running defenders.
• He was named in the Lions' senior team from Round 1 and went on to be one of only five players to feature in all 22 matches throughout the season.
• Hanley seemed to achieve career-best figures every second week and maintained a high level of consistency throughout the season. In fact, he collected 20 or more disposals in 12 of his 22 senior matches, including a career best 30-possession effort against eventual Premiers Geelong at the Gabba in Round 17.
• By season's end, he led the Club in total marks (130), rebound 50s (116) and running bounces (38), and was rewarded for his breakthrough season by the Match Committee with an equal fourth placing in the Club Champion award.

So given the season Lions had last year and the fact he played all 22 games with a SC avearge of 82.5 not the worst.

Thanks Ringo! A bit of effort has gone into that! Appreciate it!
