MIDFIELD STARTING STRUCTURE

Some would say no take barlow or hayes as your 4th mid, some would say take a 4th premium (most voters in this poll would), and some say the best rooks are mids leave it as it is.

And.... all are correct :) - do what feels right, barlow ect, could be a steal you miss out on, an extra rook in the mids will make you a lot of extra money cost you some points early, an extr apremium in the mids would gain you points early but the relative rook in another line say fwds wont make you as muc has your mid rook (possibly).

If your looking at overall i think personally you need 4 or at least 3+1 premium/mid starting in the mids, but thats just an oppinion :)

Same as I said to ele above. You have captain material there so not like you HAVE to have an extra mid premium but you will obviously have one in the fwds or defs that most other teams with 4 premium mids dont have,so it comes down to this.

1. how much less does your extra premium DEF or FWD score each week compared to other teams extra premium MID (say ablett).

2. how much more does your MID rook increase in value compared to other teams DEF or FWD rook.

It comes down to potential points scored vs potential money made. And I think leageu wins or overall strategy matters a lot in your choice. A slow start may lose you the overall competition, but a strong finish may win you the league GF even with a slow start.

Depends how your DEF and FWD look, I "think??" we have to get 2 donuts, you can structure it how you like but one way or anotehr evern with the 3 trades used rounds 12 and 13 you'll get 2 donuts minimum.

That said, I would go thomo/rocky, not pendles - if you go pendles then you put a lot more pressure on your DEF and FWD not to get you donuts, which would be more than the minimum 2 (that you get from your midfield with pendles round 12)

If that makes sense, besides you will be upgrading to premiums still after the byes so thats when i'll be getting pendles and or jelwood.

I don't think thomo or rocky will be too dissapointing, then if the rest of your team is structured bye firendly or you can trade before the byes to make it so having pendles and getting the 2 donuts rnd 12 in the mids may be no worse than anyone else strategies.

Me im looking like taking (all going well) 1 in round 12 in DEF, and 1 in round 12 in FWD depends on rookie upgrades ofcourse.

I've got to say I'm tempted. I've got 3 premiums plus Barlow but squeezing in Hayes or another good mid-pricer for early points is appealing to me. Hayes has a good early draw so it just strengthens that. But I just feel like he'll cost an upgrade, or - if lacking trades - leave one with a poor starting mid for the whole season...

Personally I don't think the midfield is the place for mid pricers if you stick to guns and rooks anywhere surely it has to be the midfield, I have Barlow but I count him as a gun, come nab cup it wouldn't be a stretch too call Hayes a gun either but I think you have to be sure any mid pricer you pick will be a keeper. So for me it's 4 guns including Barlow and 4 of the best rooks for the season, fingers crossed.

I have my mid pricers in the fwd and def ever there I only have one of each, IMO I don't think the ruck is a place for mid pricers either , but then maybe i just don't have dt balls. :)

You are totally right mate i'm an idiot :) thats my midfield and most otehr peoples I would assume. Hopefully people who have it (barlow i reckon 90%0 considered him a gun which would have counted as 4/4
