Colliwobblers

Latest Draft, with the first round of NAB CUP changes, injury changes, suspension changes.

Thoughts please???

Ringo

Pretty solid team Colli.
Just think you need a much stronger F2 than Zaha. You have three forwards who we all hope break out this year in Zaha, Sidebottom and Christensen which may be a risk. Not sure how to upgrade without downgrading in Mids where you have 4 players above $600k.
Even though a Brisbane supporter I am not sold on Rocky at that price due to the fact he will probably receive extra attention from teams this year and is yet to be tested in this area. (Black and Rich were the Brisbane players usually tagged last year and Rocky slipped under the radar but not any more.  Interested to see how teams decide to tag Brisbane's midfield this year, Black will always be tagged but will second tag go to Rocky and then leave Rich to unload his lethal left boot to service Brown?)
Apart from this no other real issues.  Can see Jacobs becoming a super prem in ruck as he will have no competition at Crows.

The question marks I have are on Lake Heppel (awkward price and will he be a 90 ppg plus player depending what you expect from him) Jacobs zac as f2 and forward line a bit too mid price for my liking but you obviously have a plan there. Maybe one gun short there. I do like your uniques in the middle as I think you need at least one to win league.

Colliwobblers

thanks guys i was really sold on christensen but only had porps for the added depth in the fwd line, before i changed it martin was ther with a rook, which was a more premium forward line, i think i can even stretch to goodes or fyfe with a rook, so the question is

christensen & porps or premium & rook ?

jacobs is a lock has too be for price and draw and JS

rocky is not a lock but i think redden gets tagged before him ringo? priddis i have locked but rocky not yet, he was barlow could become almost anyone but i do see him just getting better and better and bester

heppell 90+ is great for a last defender and not sure many more than 5 or 6 will score much more anyway.

Lake like porps and caddy are just to add early scoring depth to the lines and hopefuly (unlikely) be keepers or more likely make me a good profit and be upgraded, having scored me more along the way than everyone elses rookies will have scored them

Good team colli :)

Ill break down my opinions by position...

B: i havent gone with lids due to his tough draw and his hammy, just food for thought! Im not sure about heppel, no doubt he'll improve and no doubt he'll be consistent but we wont average 100+ IMO maybe look at grimes instead, would free up cash to splash on your forwards as well?

M: caddy is at an awkward price...maybe look at a cheaper rookie for your m5, plenty to choose from. I like your premiums!

R: brilliant...i prefer l-berger to mcevoy but very good anyway! And unique =)

F: too many potential breakout players there...could pay off tho, try and get an extra premium in there imo

Could you give mine a look? http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,48411.0.html

Very good team:

Def: Not sold on Heppel he would have to buck the trend of 2nd yr players.
Mids: Great, no real uniques there but you have the guns.
Rucks: Jacobs not in top 10 rucks in my opinion but could pay off.
Forwards: Great with Sidebum prob getting mid time to extend our mid rotation.

Cant really fault it apart from observations above.
8.5/10 Well done

i like this version much better.

Dont like picking rucks fro the crows because when they start to die they send there ruck to the back line to spoil.

Would grab heater instead of Heppell, grab Heppell later. The chances are Heater will do something stupid at the end of the year

I am interested to hear why you have Clifton ahead of Old mac don ald

just worried about mcdonald getting full games in a row, if i knew he would play the first 7 or 8 in a row i would lock him in over clifton...

He hasnt played for a year so my thinking is get him in from the start and trade him about before the byes. he is proven but dont know how he will go for the full year.

First year players are a risk, but a risk worth taking

Ringo

Nice Team now Colli.
Do you think Heppell will average 100+ as D3 if so ok.  Just not sure myself so that is why I think he may be D4.  Any reason for Conca over Suban just interested that's all
Forwards same concern with Zaha and Sidey at 2 & 3.  Just personal but I just prefer my first 3 prems to average 100+ to keep up with the race for the $50k.
Rucks and mids can not fault.
I share the same concern with you as MacDonald as if he does not play at least 7 games prior to bye will not be the cash cow we want.

Colliwobblers

yes Ringo I agree with your concerns and MOST likely rohan will become a rook he is the mid pricer i am least sold on, that will bring goodes into the fwd line.

Conca will play almost 100% in the midfield and score 70+ making him a great cash cow and scorer along the way, i reckon he will be closer to 80+.

Heppell is a LOT bigger than he was last season and will also play off half back with stints through the middle i am banking on him being a top 6 midfielder. Depending only for SC on how well he uses the ball, He looks nothing like the scrawny kid we all saw last season.

Howard will be the doggies playmaker out of defence for 2012 replacing gilbee in that role and will have a break out season. fingers crossed.

And dangerfield is likely to become goodes if / when rohan dissapears :)

It's my ruck that makes the fwd line and fed lines weak, plus my midfield, but caddy is a gun and the sky is the limit for mim at his price i cant pass him up.

Starting cox because he looks as good as he did last season and will be a unique pick that can earn me 20+ points over most other coaches rucks from round 1.

Colliwobblers

Ok had a crack at a side with the starting rookie ruck, not sold on the idea but thoughts?

Hey Colliwobblers,

seems like you have a fairly balanced side here!
not a huge fan of the 1-3 strategy it could lose you a fair few points per week

have a few queries on Conca is he definitely likely to spend most of his time in the midfield?
will Howards's scores be effected with the return of lake?
will caddy produce the scores your hoping for?
not to sure where shiel is at injury wise atm - Ive heard to many different updates

id rate team 8/10
seems like a bit of a risk with the hoping of Conca Howard and caddy to output + 1-3 rookie strategy

Colliwobblers

yes conca 100% midfield / howard is playmaker off harfback to replace gilbee, where lake is a key defender, different role. Caddy is off in the mountains getting all swanned up, not planning to keep him, think he will make a super cash cow is all.

I hate the ruck strategy, but if you look at the previous team with dual premium rucks, add 40 points for the premium ruck over giles.

then work out how much more caddy makes than a basic rook (pfieffer) / goodes over zaka / martin over danger / chappy over rohan. (admitadly rohan could be christensen if cox was any other premium)

But still i think that fwd line plus caddy more than make up the 40 points lost in the ruck, and i turn a rookie ruck into cox as soon as one is fattened, hopefuly well before the byes. Plan is definately to do before the byes tho.

you make a good point tho the side feels risky in the ruck and down back.
