you raise a good point, i guess the points are made up for in the back mid and forward line with the 1-3 rookie strategy, however that relies on the rookies roughly scoring 70-80 and be playing, if any of them go down with injury your remaining salary cap is minimal for a instant change so ud be burning trades there (just something to keep in the back of your mind) basically less worry with premium rucks.

and yeah lake is a key defender but alternatively if his kicking out or what not, ultimately his sending the ball to Howard, so points to lake or Howard here? haha. however ud like to think he would be outscoring lake being a play maker.

fair enough about caddy, i think ill hold off on him, i havnt seen enough of him to worry a pick, considering there are players like Gibson(NM), McIntyre(ADL), and so on for over 115K less which should have rough outputs of 70-90 depending on there position in the team.

aside that there are no other real criticisms to think about i don't think :)

im sure there are a few thanks for the comments, caddy might go out the door when a rook stands out AND gets named in round 1 to play. Good point on him, if they arent going to become keepers why bother with mid pricers at all.....

Adz23

no worries at all :)
who knows caddy could be a gun to, i just have not seen enough of him to worry the $$$ vs score ratio yet,
and yeah exactly rookies and premiums all the way this year!

if you would like here's my team to rate and criticize :)

I prefer the team you posted before th rookie ruck one, but both are good.

I love the Uniques in Caddy, Howard and Rohan, if any thing, your defense is a little thin, but I guess that's what happens when you've got 2 prem rucks and 4 prem mids, either your forwards or defenders will be a bit weak.

9/10 (the comments and rate were for your previously posted team, not the 1-3 ruck team)

Ok had a crack at a side with the starting rookie ruck, not sold on the idea but thoughts?

Backs: one too many midpricer there imo choose one out of conca and howard
Mids: brilliant...completely flawless
Rucks: not a fan of the rookie ruck strategy but good anyway
Fwds: chappy=TWANG!!! there are better option mate....fyfe?steveJ?

I like every position apart from rucks. But i guess you have to lose some to gain lots :) 9/10

Mid: great :)
Ruc: great :)
Fwds: very weak...zaha and sidebum both need to be bumped down a position
8/10

Overall...first team is better :)

Great team btw but one thing I couldn't help noticing is that your fwd line is stacked with fwd/mid dpps but not one single mid/fwd dpp in the midfield.  I would suggest you have atleast one mid/fwd dpp player in the midfield to help out during the bye rounds.

could you have a look at my team pls. could do with some expert advice.

@ jayman

thanks for feedback very constructive, definately leaning towards the first team, but may need to upgrade cheap rooks like magner if he is not names so most likely will need to downgrade chappy? cant afford already to upgrade him to fyfe, what about beams or others cheaper than chappy?

@ minidee

Thanks, i will put a dpp rook in the mids once one is listed to play round 1, i am hoping for pfieffer, i do think it is more important however to have the gun rooks rather than an average rook with dpp, and no dpp mids will score anywhere near as well as the pure mids...

Shiel and Zorko are injured and won't play rnd 1, Have you thought about replacing Caddy with Lucas from carl. as he's set on a wing barring injury and is the same price

Ringo

Prefer the first team

Just adding a comment though been doing a little bit of comparison between Lucas and Caddy and both are very good prospects.  Lucas may be a consideration if Caddy does not play.  Just something to consider.  Consult SC gold and advise on both.

Latest effort based on NAB CUP and decision to set and forget the rucks

Obese Arachnid

Backs: Not a fan of it. Three prems...check... but not a fan after that. Conca/howard/ellis. Conca may have JS but apart from that you are hoping for him to be (newspaper articles) moved into the midfield? On top of Lids & Newman playing more mid time? Coz i've seen those articles too. Howard, well he's got Lake & apparently Hargrave taking two back spots which they didn't really have last year. Ellis/Morris, which one if they play? What is the JS in a Tiger backline that has a few injured players coming back this year, Moore,Rance etc.

Mids: Coo.l Caddy is meh for me though.

Rucks: Excellent, I like the Jacobs call, not enough nutsack myself but as that bird says on MKR "yeah".

Fwds: I just see that as personal choice, hoping for Porps & backing Danger.

Pretty good team overall. 8.666.

Backs: conca as d4 isnt right mate...i like him and howard as picks but not sure both are suited to your team
Mid: premium choices are perfect
Rucks: like a lot
Fwds: 4 players out in rnd11??? Id be aiming to have 2 mate...

I think you could downgrade one of your premium mids or jacobs to say h-mac...allowing you to fix up your backs and forwards

Sorry to keep bothering you but ive changed my team...again
