Colliwobblers

the ever changing unamazing colliwobbers side enters it 500th alteration...

Colliwobblers

So here it is Team Colliwobblers 2012. 12 played for 1111.

Justin Bieber

Nice side, you have two mid price backs... Swan/pendles will pay off.

All I can say that you will probably get 2100

TheMailman

Goddard, Fyfe, Magner,  Howard, Hargrave, Broughton, Dangerfield and Lynch is a good amount of talent left

You make my team look ordinary :P

mezzoculo

That is a great team (very similar to one of my earlier three mid premium team drafts).

Love the Crows duo in the forward line - Lynch could be a great POD if he gets sufficient TOG (and he's named at CHF, so you're off to a handy start)!

Could be a highscoring mid rookie mix, too. Ledger and Caddy.

My favourite team this pre-season - 9.5 out of 10 (coz I know how you feel about giving 10s  ;))

mezzoculo

Ledger out of the Saint's line-up  :'(

Ledger out of the Saint's line-up  :'(

WTF how ridiculous i have him on the bench so not too tragic but hopefuly not a sign of things to come, perfect chance to play the rooks v port and they don't makes no sense

mezzoculo

Strange decision. Hopefully its a slight injury - otherwise he was simply dropped  ???

The truth about team colliwobblers.

So if you refer back to page one and see the initial "final cut" lineup, you can imagine what a disasterous season this has been for DT for me.

A lot of speculative picks that didn't come off and a few key injuries to further derail the season.

Looking at teh seasons trades you will see even more what a silly season it has been, still, finals in all leagues and hopeful of a top 1000 finish, I'd be happy with that if I can manage to stagger over the line.....

Trades history posted below for full transparency and the team I have to live with and have been living with since round 14 below that.

I will update on final ranking and league results at seasons end, and already looking forward to 2013 and a much much more conservative approach.

KEY LESSONS FROM 2012.

1. Minimum 4 premium elite midfielders in starting round 1 side.
2. 2 Premium Rucks and 2 Rookie rucks - none of this 3 + 1 nonsense.
3. Limit on risky mid pricers and those that do make the cut have to be in thier teams best 22!
4. No rage trades = broughton
5. No Sandilands !
6. No Rockliff !
7. No KPP !!!

THE TRADES

SCORE HISTORY

WEEKLY RANKS

OVERALL RANK

As you can also see my endless effrt on bye strategy and trading DID pay off, made up around 9000 places and so far have managed to hold onto the rank regardless of the lack of trades remaining as a result of the bye trading.

Good summary Colli, I think I will do mine a bit later in the season.

You traded quite well (well when compared to me)

I got a bit unlucky in the first 6 weeks.

ROUND 6
OUT   Smith ($240,400)    IN   Zaharakis ($378,900)
OUT   Cornes ($355,700)    IN   Christensen ($363,300)

ROUND 5
OUT   Redden ($149,400)    IN   McIntosh ($346,500)
OUT   Ablett ($592,900)    IN   Swan ($565,200)

ROUND 4
OUT   Mumford ($452,400)    IN   Sandilands ($472,400)
OUT   Fyfe ($450,000)    IN   Treloar ($104,200)

ROUND 3
OUT   Broughton ($416,200)    IN   Birchall ($443,500)
OUT   Dangerfield ($349,800)    IN   Cornes ($330,300)

Yes, I am fully aware that out of the first 8 players I traded in, TRELOAR was the ONLY player not to miss a match in the next 4 weeks or get significantly injured. Meaning I then had to use a further 5 trades to trade out those players I just traded in, while holding birchall and swan. That is 10 wasted trades :O

tbagrocks

still a nice ranking CW, gotta be happy with bringing in Beams and Maric early

Scrads

Not a bad finishing team Colli, only a couple of weak links. Your bench options have been solid, they must have helped save some donuts for sure. Very nice ranking regardless, looking forward to another pre-season :)

Colliwobblers

@ Spite = wow, that's some bad luck, and luck is all it is, injuries made most of those trades bad, nothing else.

@ tbagrocks = thanks and yes they were 2 of my better trades amongst the many bad ones

@ Scrads = can't wait, i felt given my research that i would be clever this season and speculate on some rooks and mid pricers, in 2013 i will do all the research but may just leave the risk taking to others :)

Spite

The funny thing is, if I had traded in Maric instead of McIntosh, that extra 7k would have allowed me to trade in zaha and o'keefe or maybe pav (cant remember his exact price) instead of christo (who was coming off back to back tons) as i was $100 short of o'keefe at the time. Would have changed my whole year dramatically.

Lessen learned about trading danger to cornes...was a risk that killed me.

Colliwobblers

yeah i did a write up on okeefe when he was dirt cheap and DID NOT get on him.

I also did a write up on stevie J when he was dirt cheap, and again DID NOT get on him either.

hindsight hey...

i did get on cloke mitchell and rockliff when they were dirt cheap, and guess what - they're still dirt cheap and for good reason

;D

oh well as long as we have had fun hey, and still the finals to come......
